The Delimbiyr Vale is also known as the Shining Valley, it is an area in the North,
encompassing the upper reaches of the Delimbiyr River. The Vale is one of the largest vales
in Faerun and is bound on the north by the Nether Mountains and to the south by the South
Wood. The western edge is the High Forest, but no part of the High Forest is considered a
part of the Vale. The eastern edge is ill-defined but did include the Fallen Lands, once a part
of Netheril. The climate is temperate with warm summers and cold winters. The vale is a
nigh-endless stretch of sweeping valley that attracts travelers and settlers who can brave life
in the Savage Frontier. However, parts of it are forsaken, filled with falling ruins, monsters,
and ancient secrets. The vale harbours the last part of the trail, called the Black Road, which
starts at Waterdeep and runs all the way to Zenthil Keep.
