The 1st month of the year. The last snow starts to melt but the cold still bites.
Fána - Spring - Eik
The 2nd month of the year. Trees are beginning to sprout and many Bindings takes place.
Mhyrir - Spring - Eik
The 3rd month of the year. The snowdrops and anemones are lighting up the forests.
Lygn - Summer - Astrid
The 4th month of the year. This is the month where most grand Blót’s take place.
Augryn - Summer - Astrid
The 5th month of the year. The fields are turning golden and the branches are heavy with fruit.
Hósta - Autumn - Kraka
The 6th month of the year. This is the month where Harvest Feasts takes place.
Blástid - Autumn - Kraka
The 7th month of the year. The leaves have turned a rich amber and the winds blows strong.
Yngvir - Winter - Njáll
The 8th month of the year where Jul is celebrated around the 21th to light up the darkest of times.
.. Nýr Ar is celebrated from 30th of Yngvir till 1st of Asamir. Most Year Walks takes place this night.
Header level 3 Blót:
A Blót is when you sacrifice to The Five.
Different items pleases the different elements that is The Five. Human death is not a sacrifice that pleases The Five, but they adore things as braids of hair that is burned, blood poured into rivers and other things that is a proper sacrifce of a thing that is dear to you. The sacrifices goes to Kraka, Astrid, Eik and Njáll, to fuel their powers so they can pass on information of the world to Silivren.
The month where most Blót’s takes place is Lygn.
Nýr Ar:
The new year. This is the time to celebrate another year where Silivren have held up the realm and another year survived. It is one of the only times a year were all can rejoice and no one is frowned upon. All may part take in the grand feast and if anyone knocks on your door, they must be invited to part take.
Takes place from the 29th of Yngvir till the 1st of Asamir.
Jul:
The festival of light in the darkest of times. You bring a pine tree into your home and attach candles to it, which you light right before you sing and dance around it. Another common thing is to make tiny snow chambers around their house and put lights in them.
In the evening there will be a feast with plenty of strong alcohol and food.
Takes place from the 29th of Yngvir till the 1st of Asamir.
Year Walk:
Is a ritual very few does. It is a way to gaze into the future, so you can see wether or not you will gain fortune and/or survive the next year. It can only be performed at Jul and Nýr Ar, since you miss out on one of the only times a year where the food and mead is plenty. So it’s a sort of Blót in it’s own way.
The Harvest Feast:
This is when the last crops have been harvested and is in the barn.
People will wear flower crowns, there will be music and lots of chain dancing. Of course also a grand feast with lots of mead and ale.
The Harvest Feast is celebrated at differnt times during Hósta, depending on when the crops are ready.
Name Giving:
The Name Giving is a celebration where the infant is given a name. The child will be given a crown of flowers of the season, or of pine tree twigs if it’s in the winter. People will toast to Silivren and wish the infant a long life. This is often the time where the infant is given a wicker rattle as well.
Binding:
To be bound is to be tied to one or more persons. It is a sort of marriage where you get to celebrate your love to one or more people and the wish to live spend the rest of their life with the person. As with many of the other celebrations a grand feast is included, where the guests will toast to the people who are being bound.
Most Bindings takes place during the month of Fána.
Earth Giving:
When people are brought to the graveyard and buried. The earth have fed you your whole life and now you must feed it. The departed will be carried on a wicker bed with flowers or pine branches, lowered into the ground and covered with dirt. Afterwards there will be a feast with lots of food and alcohol, which is called the Grave Ale.
