The party awakened in the Wisp and Woe to the sounds of Tangle Scalefoot rapping on their door, urging them to seize the day, when suddenly they were confronted by a group of ne’er-do-wells intent on bringing Jarad Krey out of the Inn.
After a hard-fought, bloody, and down-right wall-breaking heroic fight, the party was able to fight off the attackers, causing three to flee and subduing one of those that fled.
Surveying the aftermath of a surprise attack on the town of Crosswinds Post, our party took a hostage and rounded up those still in the Wisp and Woe. After varying degrees of interrogation, torture, and justice, the party learned that Jarad had left the town in search of his friend and had possibly gone to the west to an abandoned mine. Rewis Adams, a bar patron from the night before and self-described “Diplomat from Hollistar“, seemingly vanished into thin air after being maimed by acid at the hands of Yakiim.
Torgarion was able to bond with the town’s smithy through a common hatred of a human named Gareth, who had seemed to make it his business to rob dwarves of their livelihoods. Torgarion procured a hastily drawn map from Alil’Tere, or Terel as the humans of Crosswinds Post called him, as well as learning that the abandoned mine was roughly 35 miles due west of Crosswinds Post at the base of the mountains.
Anton found a note on one of the bandit corpses that mentioned a new leader of Komm that is paying a lot of money for slaves and a man named Ponks is heading a campaign to round up people near Brodriskal, with a focus on the roads south.
After Yakiim created a funeral pyre for the corpses of slaving bandits, our party decided to bring the large wooden cart led by two horses with them on their journey. The group made their way west with Anton navigating the way with pinpoint accuracy thanks to his training as a chariot driver in the Bin-al-Turk. The group was waylaid by a group of wolves; ambushing them from the tall grass to the north. Their cart tipped over, and one of their horses was completely eviscerated; but our party lived to fight another day.
Tipping the cart back upright, stuffing some wolf meat into a sleeping bag, and mulling over some new items they stowed on the cart; the party prepared for a long night of rest.
