Mount Waterdeep

Mount Waterdeep is the very foundation of Waterdeep itself, with the city first established and built on and around the mountain itself. It is a rough, rocky mountain standing some 700 feet above the sea level, to the west of the city. Beneath the mountain is the notorious Undermountain, the largest entrance to the Underdark in Faerun. The whole of Mount Waterdeep is considered to be a part of the Castle Ward.

While most of Castle Ward is designed to be traversible through streets around the mountain’s base, Mount Melody Walk is a tunnel that cuts through the center of the mountain itself, leading to to New Olamn’s academy of music and other arts.
