Old Bonegrinder Mill
After passing the Tser Falls, out party eventually saw the faint outline of a rundown windmill in the distance. Following the rutted path leading to it, we were taken aback to discover it was owned by none other than the Durst Manor, and we had the deed!
However, there was livestock about, and it was obvious that this place was now inhabited. Knocking on the door, we are invited into an unkempt, yet well used kitchen taking up the base of the windmill. Much to our surprise, the one that welcomed us in was none other than Granny M! Obviously perplexed by our intrusion with the deed, she let us know that she had just returned from delivering her latest batch of freshly baked goods to the local populaces and had nowhere else for her and her daughters to live if they were forced to move out.
Which would have been fine, and certainly something that we could have resolved amicably, where it not that some things seemed a bit… off. The smell being one, an underlying pungency that belied an innocent bakery. The feeling of uneasy, broken through with the distant sound of whimpering, was more than enough to alert us to the fact that Granny M was not the sweet old lady she portrayed herself to be!
For, sweet old lady she was not! In fact, her and her daughters were all part of a coven of night hags that were kidnapping the children of the land and using them in various ways to make their ever-so-addicting Dream Pies! Obviously this could not be tolerated, son epic battle for our lives began.
After defeating the hags, we discovered two young children on the top floor of the windmill in miserable shape. Quickly we released them, and continued on our journey to the Town of Vallaki with them in tow. The children are now safe at the St. Andral’s Orphanage.
