That was what was found on the pamphlet within the Deep’s headquarters, just before the Mercs disposed of the bulk of their forces. The Deep seems to be the newest arm of Ysimer’s cult, and as such they were fairly inexperienced, save for a few of their leaders. From what the Mercs could tell, the Deep was sacrificing people to open portals to… somewhere. And in the process of doing so, they were allying with strange crystalline creatures. What was their purpose? Their end goal? We may never know, because they’re dead and scattered to the wind.
