Party arrived at gaterpaz to witness a breakdown of communication. The Storm giants had separated the sides long enough to remove their dead and injured, but the combatants were already again pushing at each others throats. The arrival of the Centennial Eagle was heralded by the dwarves who saw the adventuring party as their champions. The hill and stone giants left their own side of the tentative truce line to surround the landing ship in a protective fashion. A devil wrapped in an elf illusion whispered to Rognar and Brasheer, the fire and cloud giant leaders. Grissam pointed out the deception which enraged the storm giants and they attacked the devil. The resulting return volley came from the fire and cloud giants hurling stones at the airship and her protective giant detail. Apparently in their hubris they misjudged the stone giants who caught many of their projectiles and returned fire to devastating effect. Although small, weak, and low intelligence by giant standards, the one skill these giants possessed is the ability to intercept incoming projectiles. Realizing their error, the cloud giants abandoned ranged attacks and charged forward. The dwarves, led by Bron Arvo, swarmed from their protective cover at the temple and joined the fray. Arvo intercepted the charging fire giants, but ended up having to take a defensive posture against the attacking frost giants. The party intercepted and nullified spells cast by the devil and the giants, as well as Pete putting up a strategic ice barrier stopping the giants from reaching the ship. The cloud giants mounted 4 giant birds (rocs) and flew above the wall to attack the ship. The wall; however, was temporary, as fire giants broke through or jumped over the barrier. Indra convinced several of the dwarves to return and defend the temple. Fireballs were launched by the wizards on the ship deck at the circling and attacking cloud giants and their mounts. The paladin raced in to confront malenbranche (the devil) and smote him with divine power including a planar shift to hell to finish the devil’s true form. Calzira revealed her true form as an angel of brilliant light and cursed Malenbranche as jax landed his killing blows. When Jax disappeared from Malenbranches broken form, he could be seen leaving a flyer with bold infernal print, “Crydon and You. The good news, a match made in heaven!”
