He outstretched his arm and Mufassa felt a strong tug from his ax as if it were being pulled away, though he was able to hold onto it with some assistance from Stergas, There was then a pulse from the ax as Mogis conjured a new weapon and began charging towards Iroas. Mufassa holding the ax felt the pulse and felt a strong urge for bloodlust, for violence and slaughter. After gods began to fight the Faithful Few decided to recuperate some strength traveling to a local herbalist, the one that Garak had visited a few days earlier, in search of supplies. The owner was a little skittish throwing a vial of alchemist fire at the first person who opened the door, but he provided the group with two minor healing potions and some empty vials for Stergas to collect the demon blood. Stergas offered to bring him to view the demon remains thinking he would be interested, but he declined informing Stergas of an old colleague Dr. Zenon, who had a shop in Meletis who would be interested in that sort of thing. Leaving the shop the Faithful Few heard a deep yell coming from the sky and saw Iroas had begun gaining the upper hand against Mogis, repelling him off with his shield. Mogis stamped his hoof and blessed Mufassa and his minotaurs with the gift of rage. In response Iroas blessed the rest of the Faithful Few and the Akroan soldiers with the shield of faith spell. The Faithful Few then headed north to the wall to see what command structure was in place only to find there wasn’t one, just guards doing the best that they could. Garak took it upon himself to take the lead, rallying the guards forming a well armored shield around him fending off minotaurs. Eventually the battle began to subside Mogis gave out a deep roar of pain, Iroas had his spear embedded in Mogis’ shoulder, Iroas withdrew the spear and from the wound deep dark red blood flew soaking the lands below. The demons and harpies began to fly off leaving behind the minotaurs. The guards were beginning to surround minotaurs and capture them. Mogis retreated, having failed in destroying the city and killing his brother. Over the next several hours the Faithful Few went about the city helping where they could, Kalash performing rites to the dead, Markus tending to the wounded and fulfilled the vision he saw when looking into the Mirror of Fate back in Meletis. Finally everyone other than Markus and Kalash went back to the tavern to rest after a very long day, while the two clerics worked throughout the night. Overnight Mufassa was haunted by terrible dreams he dreamt of killing indiscriminately, both guards and minotaurs alike and just before swinging his ax against the other members of the Faithful Few awoke in a cold sweet. In the morning the Faithful Few were summoned by the Captain who had lost both his legs during the fighting. He wanted to know what the reason could have been that all the minotaurs had died overnight with no apparent reason. The Faithful Few then went to the Anvil of Purphoros guildhall to talk with the guild leader, Dalakos, about the Colossus’ return. He informed everyone that it should return on its own after 24 hours of no combat, and that once activated it wouldn’t be able to activate again for another year. From there the group went to do research at the Temple of Victory, though having difficulty entering at first the guards made an exception and allowed everyone in. Garak and Stergas began researching the history of Akros over the course of centuries. From the time of Archon's ruling over mortals until the Meletis heroes Kynaios and Tiro rose up and overthrew them, to the siege of Akros over 40 years ago with the rise of Xenagos. Finding no records of a fight between Mogis and Iroas where blood was spilled. Garak did find one tattered scroll of a scholar theorizing about what could happen if the balance between the two gods was disrupted, stating that it could have disastrous consequences. Afterward everyone headed to the docks to find passage to Asphodel, finding the ship of a noble Alistor who was supposed to arrive at Akros a week ago but couldn’t make it, sending his ship instead. The ship was preparing to head back home, Captain Tim tested the group to ensure they weren’t worshipers of Erebros before allowing passage, telling everyone that they could leave first thing in the morning provided Markus could create enough food and water to make up for missing supplies. That night Mufassa had a dream where a deep voice spoke to him offering more power, but at a cost he would have to prove his devotion by killing everyone else. Searching through the Pyramid at the center finding a tapestry carved into the wall. Though no one could read the language describing the events. The images showed a man born under the blood red moon, becoming a powerful fighter standing atop hundreds of bodies. Until defeat, kneeling down before a blood moon and offering prayers to Mogis, amongst a destroyed village. Transformed into a Minotaur to reflect Mogis’ image, before returning to battle. Eventually being surrounded by his own men and thrown into a pit. Exploring deeper into the Pyramid showed three layers below each containing more and more coffins in a more and more decrypted state. See the end for the inscriptions of the coffins. Kalash cast locate object to look for a holy amulet of Keranos which got a ping nearly 1000ft up in the air. Thinking the answer was still inside the temple, Grarak tried to bring down the statue of Mogis in the entryway and succeeded but got the attention and anger of Mogis in the process, a quick fight between everyone and the statue. After which everyone continued to search the Pyramid finding a hidden passage in a coffin leading to the lowest level. Several pillars surround a chained coffin lit by blue fire. The coffin had the chains broken and the lid left ajar and a rope ladder led down a pit under the coffin. Kalash cast speak with dead to talk with the skull found in the pit to find out that there is an army being gathered and the the person had died sometime this year and wanted his Captain to be warned of the army. Kalash put the skull in the bag of holding to talk with later. Garak brought the statue fragments to the pit and tossed them in, climbed down with Kalash and cut himself to bleed over the statue. Mogis’ voice returned with anger, Garak showing no respect to Mogis becoming a target of his wrath, before an earthquake prompted an escape from the Pyramid. While Garak was “talking” with Mogis Kalash had sent a message to Keranos to update on their progress and told about Mogis and the floating island that passed overhead. Keranos responded saying he would not help with Mogis but to go to the roof to investigate the floating island. Escaping the Pyramid during the earthquake to the roof where lightning struck granting flight up to the island. A couple days later saw a griffon flying overhead towards a massive flying island floating northward. Before finally arriving at the camp of Stergas’ family, a stern talking to about lack of letters sent led to a warning about a minotaur covered in jagged scars and horns as black as night. Everyone then kept heading east until reaching the coast where the Few encountered a ship on fire. Helping put out the flame, some gold, and a not so subtle threat from Keranos led to the ship transporting the Few to the Labyrinth of Skophos. Rastus would lead the group of survivors to Akros, Seza would head to Asphodel to plan the downfall of Hizumi, and the Faithful Few would travel north towards the land of Minotaurs to search for the Queen. Encountering a basilisk along the way before coming across a scouting party of minotaurs. Baragon, when informed of all this information, helped the group break Seza free, where she took up hiding in her formar warehouse. Baragon awarded the group with a letter signed by him acknowledging their deeds and also the deed to the warehouse. The next day the group, now known as The Faithful Few, headed to the mines to take care of the Returned that had overrun the tunnels. Collected the letter from John, Spoke with Thomas about his chickens, and Tink sold some armor to Connor. Headed towards the western wood to the witch’s house, stopped at the graveyard along the way. Kalash received 1 piety along with Markus and Tink for various deeds. In exchange for completing the job discreetly Gerbo agreed to fulfill the request Tink had put in with the guild for a golden acorn, a spell component for Stergis. Gerbo paid a triton captain, Aquarios, to sail to the island that the construct had flown off to. During the trip Aquarios was able to translate one of the documents received from Candeto, owner of a local bookshop in the city. The group arrived at the island where the construct flew off to and defeated it with a surprise helping hand from Garak who had stowed away on the ship for a.. job… Afterwards the group traveled back to the city, Tink worked on the anvilwrought raptors grabbed from the island, while Stergis, Garak, Markus, and Scrufflebutt deciphered the last document from Candeto. Only to find out it was a journal entry from Xenagos, the group met up and discussed what to do about the original in Candeto’s shop. Deciding to rest over the course of the day [Garak](characters/6707), [Stergas](characters/6702), and [Kalash](characters/6705) all had dreams providing new information by those they knew. [Garak](characters/6707) was visited by [Xu](characters/6696) talking about the eclipse and about things the Leader of the Library had been saying and how he was acting strangely. [Stergas](characters/6702) was visited by [Gram Gram](characters/6712) worried by the recent events occurring ( the earthquake caused by [Tink](characters/6703) and the eclipse). [Kalash](characters/6705) had one final vision by the soul he had within him. However the Divine Spark within the gem proved to be too powerful for him and it killed him. The rest of the group started down the mountain to meet up with Tink, only to find his body lying on the ground. Kalash prepared his burial rites before leaving to find a safe place to camp for the night. Overnight Markus kept watch in the Tiny Hut to see shadows moving around throughout the night, by morning there were blood stained vultures circling the area with an enormous nyxborn roc perched on a nearby cliff. Meanwhile Tink awoke on the banks of River Tartyx amongst the dead, Tink got into a fight with one of the Underworld Guardians to which he lost. Moving down towards the docks Tink met with Athreos who explained that through the work of Kalash two of the exceptions Athreos made had been returned to the Underworld and as a result was willing to spare Tink and make an exception. Athreos then brought Tink around the wards of the Underworld explaining who ends up where before returning Tink back to life. Tink then followed Stergas’ hoofprints east where he came across the fight that his friends were about to undergo. A quick vote led to the decision to inform Keranos where she was. In a flash of lightning strike she vanished leaving nothing behind but the warning of her quest. Tink foolishly insulted Keranos who then struck him with a bolt of lightning nearly killing him, leaving Tink with a large burn scar across his chest. After healing Tink everyone tried to meditate and learn how to steer the island, and successfully did so. Everyone decided to head to Asphodel to help Seza, though during the trip the island flew over the army of Minotaurs gathering along the river banks. Garak had several bad dreams and an idea, drop the flying island on top of the army. He reached out to Xu through the Sending spell and that night Xu met with him in his dreams. Xu advised against the course of action preaching of the tenets of Kruphix but ultimately left it up to Garak. Talking it over with the group many were in favor till some prayers to everyone’s various gods changed some minds. Though Tink had another idea he was able to drop the island from its flight and it started to plummet to the unsuspecting army below. Quick thinking on Kalash’s part he prayed to Keranos to save them and surprisingly he did. Intervening and teleporting the group to safety at his temple, with Tink at the bottom of the mountain, allowing them a view of the destruction caused. The island fell for four full minutes before impact killing tens of thousands, many of the griffins whose home was now lost, and Tinks Steel Defender who was not teleported to safety. An older woman appeared concerned and somewhat frightened by the sudden appearance of 6 strangers atop the island. After some introductions the woman revealed herself as Kassandra, a kind worshiper of Nylea and caretaker of the Griffons, and as conversations went on it became clear that something was going on, Kassandra was missing details about her life. Exploring the island the group found a color tile puzzle and with help from Kassandra’s memories slowly coming back, solved the puzzle. The shock however caused Kassandra’s personality to change to Aella, the head strong and take no shit holy warrior of Heliod. The group made a deal with Aella to leave once morning came if she would wear the Keranos necklace to which she agreed but nothing happened. The next day Aella’s personality changed yet again to the true personality, Queen Cymede. She told everyone how she got there and what happened. When Xenagos invaded Akros he was captured and revealed the location of the Lightning Diadem, a sapphire with a spark of Keranos’ divine genius. The Queen sought it out to give herself the wisdom of Xenagos’ schemes but when she touched the stone her mind was shattered and her personality split. Though her mind was broken, the Diadem’s power shielded everything around it from the sight of the gods. Cymede has been traveling searching for the truth of Xenagos’ ascension into godhood, though with much difficulty having to deal with her other personalities, the Queen told the group her fears of going back to Keranos worrying about future people reenacting Xenagos’ plans. The Faithful Few broke the Queen’s attunement to the Diadem and sealed the stone back in the puzzle vault keeping 8 tile keys and burying one on the floating island. Now the group decides what fate is to befall the Queen now that she has been found. Rastus explained how there was a monster up the mountain though he didn’t know what, Seza and Rastus stayed behind to keep an eye on the survivors of the ship while the Faithful Few went to investigate. They encountered a sphinx who explained that they were brought to the island for a reason and to speak with the one that brought them there, they would first have to pass the challenges of the sphinx. First were three riddles, with some ease were answered. Next was the Test of Strength to withstand the roar of the Sphinx, Kalash stepped up to complete this challenge. After which was the Test of Speed, to pluck a lighting lily and bring it into the cave within a minute or get struck by lightning. Stergas was the one to complete this test. Lastly was the Statue Puzzle, a completely fair and reasonable puzzle that sadly the group failed. Upon which the statues animated and came to life after a quick fight the Puzzle was passed by might. The sphinx then brought everyone to their reward the choice of magic items though Kalash found the second coin of Atheros the one belonging to Thassa. Faithful Few were then brought to the one who had summoned them there, Karanos God of Storms. The Faithful Few departed Meletis on their way to Asphodel with much protest from Stergas, however were caught up in a storm. The navigator spotted an island nearby and the Captain decided it was best to stay on the island while the storm passes. Thanks to some quick thinking from Kalash and Garak most of the passengers were saved from the waves and made it to shore although very tired. A strange island where fish were swimming in the air and flowers were flying around pollinating bees. From off in the distance a man came running over yelling to get off the island and to take him with you. Once he got closer it was noticed that he was the man from Scrufflebutt’s and Kalash’s visions. Upon seeing Scrufflebutt this stranger happily exclaimed Lia and gave her a big hug. Both Kalash and Scrufflebutt performed religious services, Kalash tending to the graveyard and overseeing burial rites, while Scrufflebutt helped clear out the abandoned section of the polis for farm land. Then Garak and Stergis went to Candeto’s shop and convinced him to part with his notes on the cipher journal entry. The group then left the polis and headed for Meletis, however they were attacked in the middle of the night by shadows and cerbi. After fending off the creatures the night watch was doubled up and throughout the traveling it felt like the group was being watched. Then after a long journey the group got to the gates of Meletis to find guards standing watch. Everyone leveled up to level 4 and everyone except Markus gained 1 piety. Sunday was [Mufassa](characters/6758) as well as [Kalash’s](characters/6705) debut fight in the Arena, [Prodos](characters/7561) drew lots and by chance [Mufassa](characters/6758) and [Kalash](characters/6705) were to fight each other, [Garak](characters/6707) placed a bet on [Kalash](characters/6705) to win the fight. And indeed [Kalash](characters/6705) made quick work of [Mufassa](characters/6758) with his powerful magic. For the next few days everyone went about various tasks, [Scrufflebutt](characters/6704) and [Stergas](characters/6702) worked out in the fields helping with the farms. [Garak](characters/6707) spoke with a former contact, the owner of the herbalist store, about what has been happening in his former organization, and went shopping for a better sword. [Mufassa](characters/6758) did some work for the Arena, and [Markus](characters/6706) was feeling under the weather after being on the road for so long. Things were going well until Wednesday when waking up no shadows were being cast anywhere. Trying to find the meaning of this strange phenomenon[ the Faithful Few ](factions/1660)met with the Captain of the Guards to discuss. Between some sending spells to [Seza](characters/6698) and [Xu](characters/6696), [Kalash](characters/6705) discovered that the night previous the Leader of Asphodel and head of the [Church to Heliod](locations/5590) was assassinated. The chaos only grew when reports coming in that docile animals were becoming violent. Helping to contain the chaos that ensued[ the Faithful Few](factions/1660) spent the day assisting the few Guards keep order in the polis. Afterward on the morning of Thursday [the Faithful Few](factions/1660) were awakened by horns blowing in the polis warning of an invading army outside the city. [The Faithful Few](factions/1660) showed the guards the letter of recognition they received from [Baragon](characters/6730) and was allowed entry along with their new probationary member [Mufassa](characters/6758). After getting to know one another for a bit [Mufassa](characters/6758) and [the Faithful Few](factions/1660) went to warn the Captain of the Guard of the army [Mogis](characters/6742) had raised and what transpired. The Captain told them of an expeditionary force heading to the impact area in one week next Friday, having already sent 5000 men to the mountain borders. This expeditionary force would be made up of 200 more guards and local adventurers who volunteered. While speaking with the Captain the minotaur with him overseeing the training of new guards overheard [Stergas](characters/6702) speak his family name. And introduced himself as [Prodos](characters/7561), an old adventuring friend of [Stergas grandmother,](characters/6712) [Prodos](characters/7561) was scheduled to fight in the Arena later in the evening but promised to get a drink with [Stergas](characters/6702). Afterwards [the Faithful Few ](factions/1660)registered with the Adventures Guild and took on a job to clean out some of the clients’ brother’s belongings. [Mufassa](characters/6758) signed up to fight in the Arena and showed what he could do in a quick match with a guard before sparring with [Stergas](characters/6702). Lined atop the wall were hundreds of guards awaiting the approaching army, the Faithful Few joined them in preparations. As the army reached the gate Kalash ran back and forth with his spirit guardians, Scrufflebutt made the terrain look different that what was there, and everyone helped in any way they could. Markus as he stood atop the wall he remembered the vision he had back in Meletis when he looked into the Mirror of Fate, he saw himself standing by dozens of tired guards who looked as though they had just survived a hard fought battle. After an hour though the Faithful Few fought hard the gate was overrun and minotaurs were beginning to pour into the city from the gate and walls while demons and harpies flew overhead. Over the course of the next hour the Faithful Few managed to greatly impede the invading army by bottlenecking them at the gate with magic. Though Markus did notice one particular demon carrying one very large minotaur with horns as black as night, fly over the wall into the city and a little time later a blood curdling roar coming from the Arena. The Faithful Few decided to leave the gate and investigate finding Prodos with fighters from the Arena standing off against the large minotaur with horns as black as night along with several harpies and minotaurs. After the fight Garak speaking with two fighters learned that there should be backup coming but they weren’t sure why it wasn’t there yet. He left with the fighters to the Anvil of Purphoros guild to find the backup while the rest of the group started to rest. Garak found the guild hall in ruins with the leader pined under a heavy wooden beam, he told Garak about how to activate the Colossus and gave him the key. Garak relayed this info with the Faithful Few and set out to awaken the construct. Afterwards the Colossus started making it’s way into the polis stomping on minotaurs and swatting harpies.
