The Judge
Order Cleric / Fighter
They say that war.. war never changes. Well it’s same damned thing with corruption. It’s always been there, and it’ll always be there one way or another. So you might ask yourself, why even fight it? Is it not a lost cause? I’ve often wondered the same thing myself until Erathis called me into his flock. Now I am on a holy mission to bring back the rule of law to civilization and root out corruption. While avenging my wife of course.
How did I get myself in this situation? It all started when I was working as a city guard in Ank’Harel and I noticed the dirty guards in my team. Taking bribes, extorting the people they were supposed to protect, planting evidence on innocent people, harassing tourists by ganging up on them, the list goes on. When I talked to my superiors I was told to shut up and look the other way, be a “team member”. When I didn’t keep my mouth shut, one day I came home to find my beautiful Habiba brutally murdered, with a dead rat stuck down her throat. The warning was crystal clear. Maybe I should’ve taken heed, my life would’ve been so much easier.
Instead I find myself living from inn to inn, day to day, always looking over my shoulder. How many attempts on my life have there been now? I can’t even count them any more. I track down the corrupt officials, see how far the rabbit hole goes. And I judge them. After my first judging Erathis spoke to me, encouraged me to stay on this path. And so I continue, tireless, rooting out the corrupt city officials and guards.
Recently I was investigating Samir Harrak, the corrupt exchequer -I even managed to turn one of his bodyguards into an informant for me- when he got killed in the middle of the street. I saw the wanted posters of who’s behind this - have I finally found my jury and executioner?
Fun facts
