So this city is really awesome and they have all these really tasty food stuffs that I never tried before. I used my yellow pieces, that’s the gold, to get some really nice and warm and comfy clothes and boots. It’s really funny here. The shopkeepers smile and are friendly. I felt that I should not negotiate with them the way Sigurd taught me to negotiate with shopkeepers in Shady Creek Run. Also, they have so much more and better things for sale here, it’s amazing. And the people on the street don’t look scared and there’s no fights and people smile much more and say “hello” instead of growling “What are you looking at”. I like it here. And elves and dwarves are really good at making all sorts of beautiful things, tools, furniture, buildings anything you can think of they make, but pretty and good.
Anyway, I shouldn’t be getting distracted by the city. Khajit is studying things in the library and it will take days he says. Good. Because in Rumble’s village is a shrine to Melora and I feel I need to go there. Which will take a few days, but that’s ok, since Khajit is sniffing dust of books in the library anyway.
The way there is really beautiful. Well the mountains are really beautiful. And big. Also cold. But I got warm clothes. And boots. And gloves. On the way I tell Sigurd all about the plants and the trees we encounter, at least the ones I know, because the mountain nature is different than the forest nature. But also similar. On the way I picked seeds and pretty stones to leave at the Shrine. When we got to the village after a few days Rumble went to his house, but I went straight to the shrine. It was just outside of town. A beautiful open place among all sorts of trees. I had expected Sigurd to go to the bar and drink and sleep there, since he was complaining about sleeping outside and wanting to sleep in a warm comfy bed. But then he came with me and spent the night outside next to the fire I made. He is a good friend. He looks after me. And sometimes bruises my ribs. But that is all in good fun. I think. People are complicated. Anyway. I talked all night to Melora and prayed in the morning. She didn’t answer like she used to. Come to think of it, she talks a lot less to me since I left the Faerie land. And lately she doesn’t speak to me at all. I even had healing magic not work when I invoked her name. That made me sad and concerned. That I maybe had done things wrong. So that’s why I wanted to go to the shrine. Hoping to be closer to her and to tell her I am doing the best I can. I think she liked it when I made sure that Uthemar’s family got the books of the history of their homeland.
After we came back to the pretty mountain city Khajit had found out more about some giants and treasure. It’s funny how he talks about ar-che-ol-ogy, but then his eyes start to gleam like when he is counting his money. So I think this archeology is just a fancy word for treasure hunting. Just as we were about to leave the mountain city a messenger boy came up to Khajit to hand him a note. It was about his wife being the honored guest of a Shady Creek Run crime boss. One of the most creepy ones, Sigurd used to tell me. So no archeology for now. All of a sudden we seem to be in a hurry to get back to that awful place. I know it is awful now that I have been here. But Khajit is my friend and if his wife is in danger we have to go. Sigurd and Rumble agree.
We travel to the river. And the river goes all the way to Shay Creek Run, supposedly. I haven’t followed it al the way yet, so I don’t know. We use our magical boat for most of the way. We only walk a bit to avoid the dragon hunter castle which now seems to be occupied by orcs. It goes a lot faster then walking, or rowing upstream.
So we get to Shady Creek fast. And we go straight to the guys house. Khajit’s wife seems to really like it there. It is a very fancy house. We have dinner with the boss. I forgot his name. He was honest. But creepy. He had lot’s of fancy things and lots of forks and knives and spoons for eating. I expected that he wanted gold for the wife. But he wants us to go to some far away place to kill a dragon. Sounds dangerous. And exciting. And it means there will be lots of new places for me to visit and see. Awesome. I’m coming. Now for some more dessert….
