The party arrives in Baesys Tyl together with a flock of Viking warriors who all buy horses without any problems. Drok doesn’t have a horse, or any gold to buy one. Davinara offers to buy one for him, and is sure she can get a great deal as she has been trained by the infamous bargainer Sigurd himself.
Together they enter the stables and with a mixture of accidental intimidation, a certain kind of charm and topping it off with some overt intimidation they get a great deal on a truly magnificent saddle and a very old nag. Overcome with pride and enthusiasm for getting such a great deal they return to the party where Rubble feels awful for the poor stable owner and sets off to set things right. Things go a bit differently than expected when he utters the ambiguous words: “Don’t worry, I’m not here to buy anything.” He leaves with another magnificent saddle and a 100 gold poorer, that he “hides” in the cash register while the owner watches, twitching with a severe case of PTSD.
