Belmo Goodcheeks
****
Belmo was born and raised in a small halfling village, where people spend their days farming, fishing and trading peacefully with their neghbours. From a very young age, he began having visions of the future in which he saw small mundane things, like the weather for the next day or whether his neighbor would fall off his bicycle. At first, he thought these visions were just coincidences, but after several of his visions came true, he began studying magic in earnest to better understand his abilities. He spent hours in the small library of the village reading and learning about different types of magic and trying to find an explanation for his visions. He became a good friend of the librarian, Wiggan Warmwater, a very old halfling. Wiggan was always trying to get new books about magic for Belmo and helped him to understand some of the basics of the arcane. Even tho his golden years have long gone, Wiggan was always thinking about adventures and heroic stories of old. He spent a lot of time trying to convince Belmo to go out to the world and explore, to have his own adventures and then come back one day to tell him all about it.
One day, Belmo had a very intense and real vision in which he saw the destruction of his village, the burning of homes, the library, the lovely market, people running in dispair and bodies all around. In his vision, there was a group of strangers who were trying to stop the attackers. Belmo didn’t know these people, but he knew they were the only hope to save his home. Many details of the vision are blurry, he can’t tell for sure who the attackers were, and the helpful strangers just look like silhouettes in the vision.
Immediately, Belmo left his village to search for the strangers he saw in his vision and in the process, trying to improve his magical abilities to help in the defense of his home. The only person he told about this is his good old friend Wiggan, to who he left a sealed note under the library door.
Belmo carries a small notebook where he takes notes everytime something looks like it could be related to his vision.
It was on this journey that he met Gundrun one day while traveling down the road in search of the strangers. They shared several miles, conversations, and campfires together.
Belmo being a small village guy, really appreciates all the help Gundrun has provided to him while in Neverwinter and getting around it. He is also one of the 2 persons that knows what troubles Belmo’s mind.
