The next day, Eldara went to Casmos so they could return the bones to the grave together. Mir meanwhile was looking for food but found only weird purple poisonous mushrooms in the kitchen, plus some wine that he had for breakfast.
We decided to let Gigi sleep in and made our way around the hamlet to ask for directions to the graveyard. An old lady peeling peas told us which way to go, but warned us that the place is haunted, with people eating plants and sometimes even hands coming up from the ground, trying to drag people down.
We set out towards the graveyard. The rocky path first led us into an ancient forest that seemed to get denser and denser the further we went inside. The air got colder, and we discovered some gravestones scattered around. We also discovered some of those purple poisonous mushrooms from the inn’s kitchen earlier.
Casmos got stuck on some thorny blackberry vines once, but eventually after around 30 minutes, we reached the other side, where the forest opened into a huge graveyard. Almost immediately, Eldara discovered the presence of three undead closeby and as Mir went to investigate, they popped up from the ground! A fight broke out in which the undead were aided by three enormous tentacled fungi.
We came together very well in our first fight, with the Barbarian cutting down the fungi like it was harvest season and Eldara providing some precious healing at just the right time.
After the fight was won, Lyra calmed the enraged Mir by playing a simple melody on her pan flute and the group went on to find the grave of “Ser Alabin van Traford“, owner of the bones we had on us.
After some searching, we found the grave that had some signs of being recently dug up, and returned the bones to it. Immediately, the ghost appeared and told us “Thank you”, before dissipating peacefully.
Lyra tried to cut some slices of one poisonous fungi, but failed and got paralyzed for a while. Casmos sat down next to her and asked a series of deep questions like “Why are you so impatient” and “Why do you cast spells so eagerly?”, to which a paralyzed Lyra tried to respond with her eyes. Meanwhile, Eldara curiously probed and prodded her for symptoms.
After a while, she confided that she struggles with how to use magic, since it seems to make people mad constantly, like Gigi or the Innkeep, and that she doesn’t like being on this plane of existence very much.
