The Sins
Despite contrary belief, the current sins were not always what they were, nor were they even real for a long period. Some point around 2000 years ago that shift occurred. Some cosmic nature within the universe designated these seven attributes as sins, and as a result created their forces as natural laws along with it. The rules around these sins are as follows. 1. They are an equalizer of their element, they tip scales however needed in order to satisfy the condition. 2. They cannot act independent and cannot produce logical thought. 3. Your sin exists as a law, and therefore cannot be independent as an emotion or action.
And yet at some point within the last 1000 years this changed, the concepts altered, perhaps due to the naturally shifting demand of growing population, the natural laws of this world struggled to compensate for this change. And so this led to the creation of “Engines” or “Engines of Sin”. These designations were given to a creature, beast, or man who embodied the sin so much within life, they were approached upon death by the respective force with the promise of embodiment, becoming a director or power source of this sin, in an attempt to fuel it with enough energy to exist within this newly populated universe. Upon agreement of this contract, the corpse of the individual would be granted an eternal life, embodiment of their sins, and slowly, through this their personality would leave them, leading to nothing but an warm shell of who they were. Oblivion, Apathy, Karma, Hubris, Enthrallment, Discord, Death. Despite these elements being somewhat fictional in nature they were all filled by a role, also known as the Inheritor Engine, the first ever instance of each one. The current engines sometimes carry a very similar host, as often the same qualities exist in the same people.
