This massive old forest spreads hundreds of square miles between the Crags mountains to their north and the Starmetal Hills to their east. South of the wood lay the massive Sword Mountains and in those foothills, the abandoned towns of Phandalin and Conyberry. Aside from its natural dangers, many a traveler met goblinoids, orcs or worse and never lived to tell the tale.
