A total of 90 gold was handed to Gawaine to help feed the children and the party set off towards Baulderhead Krag and the secret entrance described to them by some of the older children. Near the end of the day they found the entrance and entered the fortified central tower of Baulderhead Krag. On the first floor a large group of fleshy, moaning, fiends swarmed the party but were dispatched with ease.

Veit carefully scouted ahead and was immediately ambushed by 2 Hell Hounds, after a ferocious fight the party tactically withdrew to tend to their wounds in the secret passageway. During this brief respite the familiars of Veit and Lothrin managed to convey to their masters the sense of troop movements within the castle.

Veit bravely scouted ahead once more and saw that the main hall of Baulderhead Krag was now home to some more Lemures and a familiar Bearded Devil was sitting in the throne. Assuming this to be the Chief Devil they forged plans. Until Ragnar’s battle-lust took over and he charged into the hall yelling something about a Leeroy Jenkins, whoever that may be. The Lemures were dispatched with ease as was the Bearded Devil, but a Spined Devil proved to be more difficult, as it engaged in a game of hide and seek with first Veit, and Lothrin after Veit was rendered unconscious by the actual Chief Devil, a Barbed Devil that entered 30 seconds after the battle had begun. A truly heroic battle ensued, marked by many of our heroes falling unconscious due to their wounds, and being helped up by healing spells, lay on hands and potions. But, eventually, the party managed to defeat the Devil by a truly magnificent sleep spell cast by Lothrin. After this battle the party decides to once more retreat to the secret passageway and rest for the night. The familiars see several Spined Devils flee the castle once their leader is defeated.
