Last session, the party continued on trying to get into the customs warehouse. The party split, with Oob and Robair trying to get in through the back door, while Milo and Kara had an awkward conversation with Milo’s mom, Philomena Jasmine, standing next to an unconscious Jeremy Snoot. Kara and Milo met a pair of large white monstrous cats, called Mona and Chi Chi, and met one of Philomena’s Hench people, Corrin. Milo determined they were after the same package as the party, and politely noped out of the warehouse with Kara in tow. Maeve snuck around the long way to try and sneak back into the party without arising suspicion.
The party was able to clear the back alley, and with Oob purposefully tripping the bell alarm, alerting whomever was inside to the parties presence. Robair tried peeking inside, only to be ambushed and bombarded with a barrage of crossbow bolts, knocking him out immediately. Being dragged inside, Robair spent the rest of the fight unconscious.
The mercenaries drove off the rest of the laborers, and started accosting Milo and Kara as they teleported back out of the warehouse. Fighting off more mercenaries, both Kara and Maeve found success in the sleep spell to incapacitate more enemies. After some lengthy fighting, Puck tried to go into the warehouse after Robair, but was pelted with bolts, meeting the same fate as his elven friend. Oob and Maeve, pulling Puck to safety, was able to heal him.
City Watch finally arrived, securing the crime scene, but not before Philomena and Corrin fled the warehouse with Snoot and an unconscious Robair in tow. A picture perfect dagger throw detached Robair from the back of Corrin’s cat, freeing him, but Corrin, Philomena and Snoot escaped.
Maeve, Kara and Puck began searching the warehouse for clues, with Maeve using her Investigators background to let the party stick around while the city watch started processing the scene. Maeve found a manifest that outlined a diplomatic package to Ellesmera, that could possibly be the notorious package, but was caught trying to smuggle it out of the warehouse. Some questionable choices in diplomacy have led to Puck, Kara and Maeve to potentially be detained, while Milo and Oob left a candlelight vigil out in Robair’s room for him to wake up to. It wasn’t until his panic attack subsided, and he had extinguished the flames that Robair noticed his Master Tome, and his Spellbook, were both replaced with hardcover books from the warehouse. Inside one of the books, was a note saying “We need to talk, sweetheart”.
And that’s where we are now.
