Quedanga of Clairvaux
Marquess of Clairvaux
A human paladin who is a founding member of the Blades of Clairvaux. Quedanga is known for her loyalty, compassion, and gullibility.
Born in Clairvaux, a small military outpost in the Storm Horns on the northwestern edge of Cormyr. Quedanga’s family had resided there for several generations and served as the first vanguard against any attack in that region.
As a young teen, her loving parents were brutally murdered by the Netherese. She and her younger sister, Ami, survived because their governess hid them. Clairvaux was burned to the ground, so the sisters stayed in Suzail with the Order of the Platinum Dragon, which their parents had been members of. Captain Kain Danford took the girls under his wing and taught them everything he knew, eventually inspiring Quedanga to dedicate herself to Bahamut as a paladin.
Quedanga was satisfied with this simple life but her sister was not. Ami was determined to discover who killed their parents and bring them to justice and eventually she left Suzail to find answers, promising to stay in touch. Then one day the letters stopped. After years of searching, the authorities gave up. Quedanga was going to have to find her sister on her own.
During her search, Quedanga met several other adventurers and they agreed to work together to help achieve their individual goals. Eventually they developed strong bonds of friendship and became known as the Blades of Clairvaux.
Since their humble beginnings, the Blades have grown in skill and wealth. As time went on, the group became embroiled in the war between Cormyr and Netheril. As the only Cormyrian of the party Quedanga is especially passionate about their involvement. The group has become critical to the success Cormyr and are well known by the upper echelons of both sides for their ability to change the tide of any battle they walk into.
They have also begun to rebuild Clairvaux and make it profitable. The village is thriving and the Blades have hired on many guards, as well as several key staff members. Such is the new power of Clairvaux that it was attacked by the Netherese again. Alongside the Blades, Quedanga was able to successfully defend her home.
While travelling, the group met Bob, a mysterious and cranky figure. We later learned he was an ancient silver dragon who was the patron of the family of Clairvaux. He became an ally of the Blades; providing information and assistance, albeit reluctantly. Bob has gifted Trinity the war hammer to Quedanga, after she proved her mettle. Trinity is a symbol of the pact between Bob and Clairvaux.
Another notable figure to Quedanga is Adela Tremblay, a vicious Netherese paladin of Shar. Adela lost her arm during her first encounter with the Blades has never let this grudge go. Adela was the one who captured Quedanga after she accidentally teleported into a Netherese war room, and later delighted in visiting her in prison to goad her.
