There were two brothers, Gege Long and Didi Qilin, masters of the immaterial and the material respectively.
One day, Didi Qilin was playing with a Pearl his gege had a hold of. Gege Long was sneaky and mischevous, and wanted to make a laughing stock out of his didi. So he got all his friends, the tortoise, bird, and tiger, to watch as he surprised his brother. Didi Qilin supposedly blew fire out of his nose in surprise, and melted a layer off of the pearl. This became the earth, while the smoke that rose up became the feywild. Gege Long’s friends were supposedly so excited that they hopped into the smoke and became constellations, while Gege Long sulked.
