There were two brothers, Gege Long and Didi Qilin, masters of the immaterial and the material respectively.
Gege and Didi were making things to show their friends tortoise, bird and tiger. Gege made a magnificent burning wheel that could ride into the future and the past, and Didi made a large clay pot. The friends asked what it was for, and the jealous didi said that he would put out his brother’s fire, and show that he was the better brother. However, when he threw the clay pot, the water evaporated from the heat, and the clay burst into a million shards, where the water on the ground and broken clay became the mortal realm, and the eternal flame became the feywild.
