[Emergency Call @ 9:21 am 03/21]
Ashton Punchcard (AP):
Hello, hello?
Communications guard (CG):
This is the Kelptown emergency line, what is your problem?
AP: My boss, Astor Oakshade, has gone missing! We’ve looked all over the hotel and can’t find any sign of him!!
CG: Hey, calm down, are you sure he isn’t at home?
AP: He lives inside the hotel, and the hotel was locked all night until I got here this morning. I thought he was under the weather, but his home on the 4th floor is empty, and there’s no note, no sign of where he went, no anything! Ohhhhhhhhh, what are we going to do?!
CG: Can you tell me where you are?
AP: The Shellbell hotel, to confirm, I’ll be waiting in the lobby for help while the other employees try to triple check anywhere he might possibly be
CG: Okay, hic I’ll send some guards your way but it might be a moment, I think all the other guards have their hooves full with all this fog messing with the wrap up
[End call]
[Guard arrival at 11:03 am]
Guard Appletini (GA): Hello, we got a call about a missing pony?
AP: Ohhhhhhh my dear sweet Celestia, where in the world have you been, it’s been at least an hour and a half!!
Guard Buckeroo (GB): Sorry about the wait, but have you seen the mess out there? We just got finished pulling everypony cleaning the snow out of a massive snowball in the thickest fog we’ve ever seen. The rest of the guards are still trying to manage the air teams injuries and the ponies who keep getting lost in this dang weather.
AP: Giant snowb… Nevermind about the weather, Astor is still missing, and STILL hasn’t shown up in all this time we’ve been waiting for you. Please tell me you have someway to help. PLEASE.”
GA: Calm down, we’re here now, hic, and we’re gonna find… Gonna find this stallion. For the record, can you state the missing’s name, age, and occupation?
AP: His name is Astor Oakshade, he turned 64 last December, and he’s the owner of the hotel.
GA: And your name, age, and occupation?
AP: Aston Punchcard, 46, head concierge of the hotel.
GB: Good, good, now for Astor, do you know how long he’s been missing for?
AP: I called Rafafelia earlier this morning, she said he headed up to his home within the hotel around 10:30 at night, and didn’t see him exit. She had the other staff with her when she locked the whole hotel at midnight, nopony saw him leave, and he didn’t say anything to me yesterday about any intention to leave. For goodness sake, today is Winter Wrap Up, it’s such a big service day for us, there’s no way he’d skip town unless it was a dire emergency, and even then he would have left a note, a call, a scrap of paper, anything!!
GB: That’s, uh… There’s about an hour and a half before the place got locked for the night. You sure he didn’t have any reason to leave? What about the side exits? There should be other exits than just this one, right?
AP: Our normal policy is to lock the extra doors after 10, and while he had the keys to unlock them, he was normally the pony to lock them in the first place.
