Exploring Wandermere, Part 2

The group readied their weapons to face the Blistercoil Weird that just burst out of one of the mine shafts in The Glittering Mines. It reached over and began to devour red crystals and become bigger. As the miners scattered and ran for the exits, Jukli ran forward charming the creature, Ralathen shot some arrows from a distance to gauge the threat, Fergus thought back to the information he gathered from Giro at Giro’s Gem Shop and scanned the walls for emeralds to use against the elemental, and Ranoa helped Fergus try to dislodge one of the gems. The Weird charged forward attacking Ferdinand heading towards a second red gem. Jukli stabbed at it, piercing into its amorphous body, burning himself in the process. Ralathen sent his shadow forward to attack it as he hurried the civilians out of the mine. Fergus was able to dislodge the emerald from the wall which Ranoa caught and ran over and hurled at the elemental getting it stuck inside its watery body. As the Weird began ingesting the red gem, becoming very unstable and about to release all of it’s energy, Ralathen let loose an attack at the emerald inside the Weird as Jukli stabbed it in the back. The emerald cracked and released a water elemental within the Blistercoil Weird causing an implosion within as Jukli stabbed through the Weird releasing its contents onto the floor vanquishing it. The miners cheered and thanked the group profusely and Fignor Boulderbeard invited them to his house to reward them with an extravagant meal and coin.

After dinner, the party headed over to the hot springs where they grabbed a room and some well-deserved relaxation. Jukli listened to some chatter in the bar area and got on stage to perform with Sayuto. Fergus and Ranoa headed to the communal hot bath and chatted while Ralathen met up with Draaldin in one of the saunas. Ralathen got Draaldin‘s contact information despite Fergus and Ranoa‘s best efforts. The party then headed to their respective rooms to rest for the night.

The next day the group headed over to see The Oracle. Everyone got their palm read except for Ranoa who stood back and just observed.

Palm Readings

Jukli: You will meet a close friend soon
Ralathen: Someone close to you is in danger
Fergus: You will travel to another world soon, trust him

Dream Interpretation

Jukli: Your clan is depending on you and it appears that Brok needs you, something you have, or something you desire and he seeks to engulf it.

After everyone was finished with The Oracle, they grabbed Lucy Luck from the hot springs and headed off onto the northern road to Reinmont. As soon as they left the village, away from the warmth of the floating elemental heating gems, the weather grew colder and harsher and snow began to blanket the area. Large clouds rolled in as frigid air whipped and a blizzard set around the party. The change in weather was jarring and presented the characters with a challenge to overcome the elements. Jukli took the reins and attempted to navigate the cart along the road, but got turned around in an unfamiliar landscape causing a longer trek before being able to settle down to camp. Fergus created little handwarmers for everyone and did his best in keeping everyone healthy. Ralathen attempted to create shelter and warmth by sewing together fabrics to keep the wind from chilling everyone in the carts, but was unfortunately affected too much by the cold and wasn’t as dexterous or nimble with their cold hands resulting in poor craftsmanship. Ranoa went out and chopped down a tree for some firewood successfully giving the party a beacon of warmth when they setup camp. Everyone attempted to rest through the night in the blizzard, but Jukli and Ranoa suffered a sleepless night. Jukli rising the next morning completely exhausted and Ranoa bedridden from a vicious cold.
