Riven visited with her ex, Roseline, who is now a high ranking member of the Harper’s. Rosaline chided Riven for her previous lax and self-interested personality compared to Rosaline’s commitment to the Harper’s cause. Rosaline declined to give any real insight on the infiltration at their meeting that left Riven stabbed and limping back to the party, but offered a chance for Riven to prove her more altruistic attitude to the Harper’s: go find
Maxeene in the Southern Ward and see if she has any information on Zhent leadership operations in the last few days. Send Rosaline a message and she’ll set you up to meet with their leadership to figure out what’s going on.
Meanwhile, Bollabar and Mellos headed to the Castle Ward and The Font of Knowledge. Though Mellos has a checkered history with the Mages, he maintains good enough standing to sneak them in. There, they researched Manshoon and found his name throughout Waterdhavian history as an ancient advisor to the king before the Sundering, helping to hold the city back from the power of dark mages during the last Thayan incursion, before he disappeared completely. From there, it was piecing together reports and histories of smaller towns or far away cities, where you found a series of catastrophe’s where a wizard arrived, only to make them worse, wreaking devastation and death throughout the Sword Coast for seemingly unknown purposes. Finally, they discovered that Manshoon’s name is on a series of most wanted lists in this current government, with bounties and rewards offered for information on him by the Harpers, Force Grey, the Lords’ Alliance, the Order of the Gauntlet, the City Watch, and the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors; but you would need proof in order to bring them to your side.
That night, you all awoke to the sounds of movement in your tavern and through the halls, tracking phatasmal energy into the basement where whatever it was disappeared… for now.
Then, on your third day of downtime, the Stone of Golorr revealed the location of the first key to you, which is where we’ll pick up now.
