Shadowfell is one of the planes of existence, bordering the Material Plane, opposite from the Feywild. Similar to the Feywild, the Shadowfell is an echo of the Material Plane, like a shadow cast by the energies of the plane itself. It is a place of decay and desolation, and is where The Raven Queen resides.
