Ruidus Visible

The second day of the journey to Vide Cay was quiet, though Scrum saw a huge bloom of black-purple energy on the horizon, through her power granted by ingesting just an unhinged amount of mushrooms. The bloom was just in a moment, about 300 miles away, just above the surface of the ocean. After finding and telling Della, she popped a Ruidus potion and accessed the well of power connected to the portals within her. In an instant, Della’s consciousness raced across the waves to find the schism that remained from the bloom and could peer through it… back into the material world.

Della saw a ship with a black hull and gray sails sailing away from the portal, as if it had just come through the portal, causing the bloom of power somehow. In this moment, Della also realized that her view was from the inside of the portal, hazy and clouded and dark, a grayscale vision of the world around her. Returning to the ship, Scrum saw a disturbed look on Della’s face before she left to talk to Amira.

Privately, Amira and Della discussed the ship and what Della saw, while Cassie came up to see Dairon close to the private conversation but it’s unclear if she was listening.

That night, just before Della went to bed, Ruidus was visible in the night sky.
