The third day of the Tide of Ruidus’ journey continues the same: uneventful.

Having explained yesterday’s portal exploration to Cassie, Della takes her suggestion to begin practicing with her control of the portals to see if there is a possibility of using them to move the ship itself, rather than just people. Amira retreated to her quarters to consider the new threat and determine who else might have access to abilities like Della’s.

Cassie studied the Speculum, learning that there will be an intricate spell needed to cast to activate it, but that it’s power is available to anyone with the activation secret, rather than needing to be attuned to a specific person. She studied late into the night and meditated to wind down, seeking clarity on why she heard Ezekiel’s voice. While meditating, she achieved a piece that let her examine the interior of her consciousness and saw it split into four quadrants: hers, Stone’s, Ezekiel’s and… another.
