The Lower Planes
Colloquially referred to as hell, the Lower Planes are actually a set of seven interconnected realms, and one of the most peaceful places across the Cosmos.

Economy
Hell runs entirely on the idea of exchange. It is equal, on the basis that you get exactly what was laid out. Fiends do not bargain in lies, but this is especially true of trade in their own spheres. A fiend generally prefers to give up something finite, like time or energy (not in the literal sense, but like doing labour for someone) as a show of respect. Material plane money is worthless in terms of the value it holds simply by existing, but a coin collector fiend or a metal smithy fiend might still be interested in it as something else, transformative.
Outside of the Lower Planes, trade is done via things permeable to the Realm’s membrane. One time business transactions are able to be completed between most realms, but a long-term and consistent pact for power and spells has only ever been recorded happening between the Lower Planes and the Material Plane because of Jera ᛃ. Pacts and deals can be for Souls, but things permeable to the membrane also include feelings, experiences/memories, skills and relationships. These are typically chosen among other things because anything a person feels particularly strong about can produce energy from the soul, though it is used up and cannot be remade, like the energy from a harvested souls.
Souls are able to constantly replenish their energy through a process akin to the replenishing of ATP: A part of the soul holds a person’s passion toward it, and by breaking this part of the soul off, the experience releases that passion from a chemical store of energy to an action impulse/ electric store. Without the full soul, the reactants are forgotten, but the full soul itself has the ability to restore its’ parts, using high pressure to reform weak bonds between the split energy store before it can be forgotten. Fiend scientists have gotten up to like the ‘souls can regenerate’ part of this there is no science in the Lower Planes thank god.

Government
N/A. Groups of fiends may come together in a Legion (a barrister’s chambers, basically) but it is entirely possible to exist lawlessly, under nobody’s control, though typically this is not the life fiends choose. There is respect going equal ways between a boss and a subordinate, as the prime way of determining hierarchy is through the win and loss of games. To outside realms, this may appear as a bad decision, but fiend games test mind, body and motivation, so the winner is the best for the job, or the are replaced quickly.

Foreign relations
Lower Planes relations are generally very business-like, but on a personal basis. There is no ruler for the other planes to talk to, so the ‘relation’ between the fiends and other planes generally runs down to how they are perceived by the individual. Demon pacts were banned for a short period during the establishment of Irregeros (years 60-123) but, while never technically taken out of the law, are entirely unpoliceable.

Climate and geography
Each plane has a different climate to the others, despite how close in space and time they are. This is because each realm used to be entirely separate, but hundreds of thousands of years ago they suddenly were pushed together (Jera ᛃ). Each realm has a different sun, moon and sky. The climate of each district is as so:
L: A primarily underground area, warm but without a lot of water. Caves have never been closed, but those not ready have been lost in the great tunnels outside of the main, drill-like cave. The souls in this district glow green.
B: Chilly, but in a soft biting way. There is no wind, but constant fog, and it is one of the few districts to still be using stone for buildings. The focus is on great, spire like buildings and the contrast between squares and pyramids, sharp and dull. The souls of this district glow grey.
K: The air is light, like the top of a mountain. Cold enough for your breath to be visible. A realm above the others, made of lots of floating islands above the Schaudernd river. assumed to be broken up from the collision of each realm hitting each other. The souls of this district glow blue.
A: The Plane least urbanised. Large insects still roam this plane, and what fiends do live here live quietly in thin metal cottages. It is calm, and almost painfully weatherless- not too hot, or cold. It has not rained, snowed, and sun has not shined in two thousand years. The souls of this district glow purple.
W: A cacophony of noises. The weather is different to each individual, and so is what is seen on this plane. Fiends use this to farm materials, but nobody lives there permanently, as reality gets more distorted the longer one stays in there. Fiend scholars debate if this realm was originally a part of the Lower Planes at all. Souls do not glow here, they darken the surrounding area.
T: Constantly in winter, snowing eternally. There are few buildings, but only in the way that there are many with broken down walls that have merged together. The cold has made the people the warmest. The souls of this district glow red.
S: Warm, but almost in a tropical way. Many rivers misattributed to being of fire or blood because the sun casts everything in red. What material plane people think ‘hell’ is. The most urbanised. The souls of this district glow orange-yellow.
