Kito was born during the most recent alignment of The Twins. This most auspicious birth was marred by a surge of wild magic which resulted in the tragic death of his father. The import of Kito’s birth, and its meaning evolved as Kito grew older. What was first taken as a powerful portent of good things to come became a chaotic omen (at best). Kali raised Kito, but with gritted teeth. Kito ate last in the family, slept apart from everyone, and was left to his own devices more times than not. Kito, at age 15, was summoned by the village elders, who in their ‘wisdom’ declared that Kito’s coming of age rite had arrived. His task was to venture forth and find The Twins Eye, a mystical jewel that had been spoken about in services. Kito, ever ready to take on this quest, set forth from his village, the elders having pooled resources to pay for his way off planet.
