It’s unclear when exactly everything changed, but the clans did live in harmony once, long ago. It’s even said that there was just one clan of reptilianfolk until it got too large for the resources around. At that point, the clan split up with one half crossing the Jezik River to start a new life. This new settlement would develop beaks, feathers and wings over thousands of years becoming, what we refer to them now as, Aarakocra. Over the years, the peace between the communities crumbled. The Verdant grew jaded that The Proudwings were blessed by Brok the Wastes Warden and given a powerful staff made of his scales (The Staff). Thus the fighting began, The Proudwings became jealous of the land The Verdant inhabited nestled between the two tributaries of the Jezik River, one of the only areas able to sustain good enough soil for farming. War bands would then fight over border disputes around the river.
