02/07/1491 - Letter to Commander Ashine
Common, Official Seal
- Letter to Commander Ashine (K. Embassy, Hanbaishi): 7 Alturiak 1491
Commander Ashine-
We arrived on Hanbaishi a few weeks ago on business for the Captain, and have returned now for a few days since the work is complete. I learned that the Koalitio is in regular contact with Craia - I hope this means that I might be able to send and receive letters (though receiving them may be difficult if we are not in one place for very long). I am eager to hear from my family and to learn more from Archruid Qihana about the conversations and decisions they are making (for instance, how they are feeling now that travel groups are going out there to observe them).
I also learned that you are working on helping Bral recover from the incident there. I hope all goes well for you. The Ship’s crew have business on Bral once travel is possible again, and perhaps our paths will cross.
While I am at the embassy here, I hope I can speak to someone about any progress that may have been made in finding our missing people. In the meantime, we have learned of a kidnapping that coincided with a threat warning about the Return, so we will do some investigating and see if it gives us any answers.
Success in your endeavors,
Rusco Verel
Post Script:
I am at the Embassy on Hanbaishi, where I hoped to send you this letter and receive any news of home. While here, a group from The Return attacked the embassy. It was a tough fight, but we were successful in taking out the apparent leader of their group. In the end, Koalitio forces arrived to help with the remaining attackers. A member of their group escaped mid-fight, and an etherial bird-person seems to have escaped with the sacred flame of the Deepstones.
We spoke with the Governor and Zoas Zylric Zaos once the fight was over, and they intend to award us with some kind of honor! I am told you are doing well in aiding the people of Bral in their recovery, as I trusted you would. I received your letter (which was warming to receive as my first piece of correspondence!). The crew’s business that brought us to Hanbaishi requires us to return to Bral, so perhaps we could meet with you and discuss what is happening there and how we might meet our employer and help in your efforts.
We expect to remain on Hanbaishi for at least a few more days, and if we return to Bral we will almost certainly stop on Proxima 61 to resupply. I hope that my letter has reached you in time for a response. I understand that I can access your response from any Koalitio posting.
