Session 20
Ayse pretends he doesnt know the group, then makes an awkward departure. Lucius Heads to the Aulamaxa estate to talk to his mom. Lucius has Tessig draw a heart on his neck as a prank for his mom. She doesn’t like the prank, and Lucius asks her to introduce him to a director to aid in his upcoming play. Lucius begins to head back towards Longroads, but Tessig asks to meet with Larc, so Lucius brings him. They reconvene at Longroads.
Tessig has a deeeply disturbing past regarding “sloppy”.
There was much discussion as to what should be done. The group discusses priorities and determined they should figure out Clenchjaws financial situation, and deal with the red Jills. The party pays a visit to the tavern, and Lucius strongarms Rinston into a deal with the promise of significant financial support, seemingly to Rinston’s chagrine.
Session 21
Ham speaks to the winged creature at the top of the bell tower. They entreat, as she seems bored and willing to talk. Ham introduces himself, and the creature, who calls himself Jefferey. Ham claims that he took issue with them targeting Talula, and Jefferey says that they definitely had the right person, and that he had proof that she was feeding info to the Dotarri about the red roof district. Ham has Jefferey go get it, then he tosses a rope down and the rest of the group ascends while they wait.
Eventually, Jefferey comes back and asks the group to follow. They do so, then follow out to the roof. Jefferey tosses a bag of letters to the group as “evidence” but when Vazra points out that Talula would never rat, and this wasn’t even her hand writing, Jefferey rages at him and combat begins.
Jefferey announces that he is actually a strix named Scar-plume and flies into the air, launching scorching rays at Lucius fueled by racist rhetoric. Lucius is forced to flee into the bell tower to break line of sight while the other four handle the tingling followers.
The tieflings are taken down one by one in relatively quick succession by Larc, Vazra, and Ayse. Trouble arises for Lucius as Scar-plume has a single minded hatred of humans, and chases him into the bell tower, continuing to launch deadly spells his way. Ham attempts to rescue Lucius, healing him and stepping up to the Strix.
Unfortunately, Hams efforts weren’t enough, as Lucius is knocked unconscious by a vicious shocking grasp from Scar-plume, leaving Ham alone to deal with her.
The last of the Tieflings is eventually dropped, ignoring diplomacy and threats from Vazra to get them to stop fighting. They switch focus back to the leader in the bell tower, just in time for Ham to go unconscious as well.
The brawl turn is in to a shooting gallery as the entire party piles into the crambe bell tower, trying to protect their allies and fire spells or projectiles at Scar-plume. She takes to the air, using her mobility advantage to it’s fullest to harry the remaining party members with spells from the sky.
Desperation sets in as the team takes shot after shot at the Strix, but barely managed to land a hit or scratch her, all while being blasted from afar by fire magics. Finally, Perfidus has had enough. He notices that the Strix made a mistake, hovering to within 10ft of the tower. Seeing his opportunity, he drops the bow he was using and pulls out his great sword, leaping from the tower into the sky and rending Scar-plumes head from her shoulders mid-air. He then plummets, along with the fresh corpse, 30 feet to the ground below, but survives the bone crushing impact.
Lucius and Ham are stabilized and woken up, then the group loots the entirety of the base, before falling asleep on the church’s roof to wait out curfew.
