Oathday
Session 34
Its a slow start to the day as the Ravens gradually awaken and make their way upstairs to the Nail. As they gather around the bar to get breakfast and drinks, Laculla Gens makes her way in. The Ravens that hadn’t met her yet are introduced, as she gets to know everyone a bit better over breakfast. She gets into a deep conversation with Zach about what he eats, and the party gets to enjoy some free blackberry and blueberry tarts because of it!
Setrona thanks the group for helping her brother, stating that the Armigers can stay at the nail until they make contact with Octavio for the next steps. Lucius sends a silver raven to the shrine with a message for Octavio containing a brief message of their success and where to find the Armigers. As the party is enjoying the refreshments and discussion, a town crier barges in with a pressing message. He announced the Tenth Proclamation of Barzillai Thrue, which outlaws a variety of authors’ works, decrying them as banned and requiring people hand over any of the illicit material or be punished if caught with it. Lucius is lucky enough to make the list of banned writers.
Laculla pulls Ham aside, but Ayse follows with the discussion. She mentions that Old Kintargo is full of people who are beggining to second guess the new leadership in Kintargo, but they have no direction to vent their frustrations. She takes Ham and Ayse for a walk around the district. She leads them to a construction site, and points to a sign stating “Coming soon: Truny’s 3!”. She makes some thinly veiled remarks about how some new businesses are moving into the district, potentially forcing out the “native” shop owners, and that somebody should “do something about it” Ham and Ayse pry her for more direct meaning, but she plays coy, and eventually Ham just says, the Ravens may look into it, but Ayse agrees to do whatever it is she’s talking about, again without figuring out what she was implying. The group returns to the nail. At this point, the Ravens decide it may be best to take some time off, lay low, and see how the citry progresses over the next few days while they figure out their next move.
DOWN TIME: this takes place over the next few days
Tahlulah suddenly remembers she in collge, and returns to the Academy to catch up on her coursework
Ham helps out around the Longroads, spending time with Laria and picking up a few shifts
Lucius seems to get into a fit, stewing in the Wasp’s nest writing what he hopes to be inflammatory material to distribute in the face of the Tenth Proclamation, but ultimately accomplishes little and just gets drunk with Rexus
It is during one of these “Writing sessions” that both Perfidus and Tahlulah approach Lucius hoping to ask for some advice. Tahlulah asks for some assistance in catching the eye of any of the Academy’s underground organizations, but Lucius is less than helpful. He and Rexus lament loudly and drunkenly, and seeing this, Perfidus decides that Lucius is no longer worth his time.
Bird up and History’s Greatest Rebels get into a heated argument. Apparently, resentment had been brewing between the two teams, and it was reaching a boiling point. Complaints about assignments and lack of direction lead to lashing out at each other, and both Perfidus and Ham step in to sort things out. After hearing out both sides, they manage to calm the instigators and keep the conflict from getting physical. Perfidus manages a compromise, while also promising to personally do a better job of being a leader to Bird Up. He sees Lucius is out of sorts, and with his success in resolving the conflict, he starts to look into taking a more active role in leading the Ravens.
