Mia

Mia is a 20 year old tiefling known as the library’s laughter. Born and raised in Farinnel to two of the library’s head researchers, Mia has long been underfoot as the unofficial assistant to everyone working there. Her mother’s passion for learning and education found it’s first root in Mia and the girl was granted the best education you could ask for: arcane arts from her trained wizard mother, survivalist skills from a ranger father, and anything else she could listen to from the various scholars and experts the library hired or housed. Mia lived and breathed the library, making it her home, her playground, and her lifeline and never moreso than in the last two years.

Weeks before her eighteenth birthday, her parents left on another expedition. This was not uncommon and Mia didn’t ask questions about their two week journey to Kymal and beyond. Which made the letter from Rodolfo Balon, the man who hired her parents, hurt all the more. There had been an accident, the letter said, and a tunnel they were excavating collapsed, making their bodies unrecoverable. Her parents were dead and their patron had sent their job earnings to try and make up for it. Something about this didn’t feel right to Mia; why would they have taken their hiking packs if they were excavating? Eleni hated tight spaces so why would she have been in the tunnel? When none of the other librarians agreed with her suspicions, she recently began to look herself.
