Orion Bladewalker is a 62 year old human farmer, managing the Animal Fields of Farinnel. Broad shouldered and lean, with permanently sunburned skin from years of hard work in the fields, dark brown eyes and a shaved head, Orion’s intimidating appearance is completed by the frown he permanently wears under his goatee. Gruff and irritable, Orion has few friends and he likes it that way, preferring the companionship of his animals, even with the scars that taming monsters has left him with over the years.

Having loved animals since he rescued a maimed displacer beast kitten as a boy, Orion has dedicated his free time to learning all he can about monster taming and husbandry. The displacer beast, named Starsong, 50 years grown now, still lives in the farmhouse with Orion and the pride of his beasts tamed and made companion, is the Owlbear that Orion calls Snugs. The five year old Owlbear patrols the Bladewalker property and occasionally travels into town to be fed scraps from Seth’ra’s butchering.

Starsong has always strode alongside Orion on his trips into the settlement and plains beyond, but age is catching up to them both and Starsong is seen around the settlement less and less. Coupled with Orion’s recent falling out with his son, Oliver, citizens are nervous about what happens to their primary livestock farmer when Starsong must pass on.
