Save Lark and Sparrow Oak
Main Quest
Overview
Go to Neverwinter to find Lark and Sparrow Oak.
When the dads arrive in Neverwinter, they hear that Lark and Sparrow have come through as emissaries of the Doodler. Through some investigation, it’s revealed to them that the Lord of Chaos appeared after Henry’s children vanished. On a mission to meet them, the dads are introduced to Sheriff Boreanaz. The Sheriff secretly leads the Children of the Doodler, a cult dedicated to bringing the end of the world through a summoning an eldritch god. He informs the dads that they can meet the Lord of Chaos if they first impress him through their fighting prowess.
The dads prepare to fight by stripping down, and the naked form of their father horrifies Lark and Sparrow so much that they abandon the Lord of Chaos disguise.
Lark and Sparrow send their dad and his friends to the dungeons. Through combat, dad jokes, and quick-thinking, the dads manage to escape. Henry confronts his son Sparrow on the roof of this tower where the Sheriff is preparing to summon the Doodler. Through a transformational speech about love (and literally transforming into a wolf), Sparrow is convinced to abandon the quest to destroy the Doodler and instead dedicate his life to becoming a love wolf.
Saving his son in this manner marks Henry as the unsung hero, and Sheriff Boreanaz wastes no time sending his guards after Henry to kill him to summon the Doodler.
In the end, there was not much of a fight between Henry and the Children of the Doodler. By throwing the Bag of Beans, Darryl summoned a 60 ft pyramid that bisected the skyscraper Henry was fighting on top of. This pyramid resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent people and the Children of the Doodler believe they were successful in summoning their god.
As the dads made their escape, Henry watched as Lark and Sparrow’s eyes rolled back into their heads. A voice began to speak through them, delivering this message:
*You have found your children, but you have not learned anything. If only you had been more intelligent. If only you had saved more people. You have proven you are unworthy as a father. You do not deserve. These. Children.
After speaking, Lark and Sparrow began to fade from existence. Henry promised to find them but was left with no leads on where to start. This began their next quest: Who Stole Our Children?
