Gaige and H’arald return through the mirror to Mirabar say a brief farewell to Sal and Bully and arrange travel to Baldur’s Gate by way of teleportation circle. Before stepping through the circle H’arald changes his appearance to that of a 60 year old human explaining that he is wanted because of an affair with a noble’s wife. Gaige assumes he is deeple in love with this woman and keeps pointing to women and asking whether they are the one.
They arrive in the Hall of Wonders and congratulate themselves on the fact that Peter is not with them because he’d be stopping everywhere and giving lectures. After inquiring whether anyone could identify the tuning forks they are led to a very distinguished and artificery person who tells them the forks are for Mirabar and a “Plane of the Void”.
Gaige delivers the head of Grunswick to the temple of Kelemvor and receives the bounty, there is a bit of awkwardness when the Inquisitor notices H’arald is magically disguised and is introduced as H’enk. But this is patched up and a new bounty is issued for a totally not frat-boyish vampire named Braydon. He killed an entire village, Yulan, and made them his thralls before knocking off to the Marsh of Chelembir. If they return proof of Braydon’s demise the bounty will amount to 9000 gp. The Inquisitor mentions that they could get more information about vampires from the Order of the Ghostslayers but both Gaige and H’arald don’t feel like such a badly named order can be very knowledgeable and arrange horses to travel to the Marsh.
But not before having a quick visit with Gaige’s old Master in a quaint Dojo in the slums of Baldur’s Gate. Some debate about the meaning of life and purposes in life is had as well as a brief sojourn into the soul of Bear.
