We head over to the Hell and High Water, Moriana Duskwalker‘s ship. After spending the night in the relative safety of the ship Portal to Mirabar. Alas, Gaige’s mortal enemy Tinar is not in the crow’s nest and Gaige marks her territory when she sleeps in the crow’s nest. Next day we head over to the Arcane brotherhood for a teleport to Mirabar. We paid for a return trip. Bear Moonmusk is scared like BA but manages to hide this by wearing a halfing around his neck for good luck.
Next moment we arrive in the underground part of Mirabar, a large city with around 15000 citizens, calculating the humans above ground. With large elevators we travel to the surface, rent horses and travel to the forests edge in a few days time.
Due to a lack of Gaiginess and Beariness this evening the remaining party spent a night in the past trying to get a hold of a pirate ship. And which is the first pirate ship that springs into mind? Of course: the Bloody Star from our former questgiver Captain Barnabus. A mighty ship, with a captains chambers of 60 by 90 feet, you might call this ship a castle of the seas! So our 3 friends head out to rid it of is obviously evil captain, for the generalisation that all pirates must be evil is always true, sounds reasonable right? Right.
Arriving on the Bloody Star the night watch is easily persuaded to let us in the captains quarters and get us all some milk and cookies. Once alone with Barnabus Saga Amberfall and H’arald Fornax try to magically “suggest” him that he’ll sell us the ship for 1 gold. This fails and Saga polymorphs into a giant ape and is hastened by H’arald. Barnabus calls out for his crewmates calling them “bats”. A partially dressed lady (but with a component pouch) appears from the bedroom and electrocutes Peter Zonnestraal almost killing him outright. During the following combat this affects Peter so much he doesn’t hit a single time but manages somehow to stay alive amidst the smashing ape armes which crush all incoming enemies. When the huge she-monkey rips the then blinded captain Barnabus apart he doesn’t die in the regular sense, he dissolves in a grey mist which blindly floats around the room.
H’arald Fornax remembers that vampires dislike water and tries to find his sarcophagus. When the huge ape is finally slain by 4 pirates Saga morphs back and the friends hide in the bedroom which is quickly locked by Peter. Saga blasts a large hole in the back wall of the ship and Peter then telepathically moves the large stone sarcophagus through the hole into the dephts of the harbour. He then jumps in the water and swims to shore. H’arald throws a ring to Saga and vanishes from sight yelling “take this ring and don’t lose it!”. Saga catches and at the same time flies out the hole back to the dock where they reunite and quickly dash to a portal to Mirabar. At the portal site Peter messages Dwaine Rocksteel and asks if he could portal their purchases for a prepaid fee to Mirabar for them to be picked up in a few days.
New “situations”:
- another mortal enemy in Luskan: crew of the now presumed dead vampire Captain Barnabus.
