And we bravely fled from the scene. And fled some more, and some more, helping Bear Moonmusk jump over puddles and Peter Zonnestraal through bushes and H’arald Fornax sighs and continues to ponder why o why did he go dragon hunting with an old man. Returning to Gruhilla‘s hut she starts brewing her potions of reverse-wear-rat-ism. H’arald Fornax catches some poisonous fumes from concoctions which he puts in a vial starting a new questline? (The poisonous vial. During the brewing Peter is old-man-napping and Bear speaks with Gruhilla about the Blue Bear Tribe who now live in shameful-self-imposed-exile somewhere in the High Forest. Somewhere near Hell Gate Keep. It is there that their Ancestral Mound (the Stone Stand) can be found). The Blue Bears made a little mistake when they followed (were misguided by) Tanta Hagara (a hag and/or demon of sorts). Eventually Tanta Hagara was killed near Hell Gate Keep and the Blue Bears exiled themselves in shame. Bear speaks about his father, who is the son of Duke Daggerford. His mother is now imprisoned for a crime (?) somewhere (?) - see Bear Moonmusk background. And with hours of brewing the potion is ready. After again ample considerations and then some more considerations (mostly made by Gruhilla) Bear gulps down the potion within the second and falls in a deep slumber.
The following morning, feeling refreshed and renewed and leveled-up, the party rises wave happily to Gruhilla and set of to find a ruin in the woods to loot it (Investigate ruin in Lurkwood). By marvelous navigating (and sheer luck) Peter finds the ruin in a hilly part of the forest. It appears to be an old Elven fortress. Bear finds a crate filled with diamonds and other valuable stones. The next moment we are greeted by a red-robed gnome names Glores. He introduces us to his mate in matching blue cape, Falrin. Smart as ever H’arald Fornax reads their mind and finds out Glores made up the name of his companion and calls him differently in his mind. Suspicious? Not to this party! After drinks and dinner we head down their ‘excavation site’ where they want to show us something ‘interesting’…yeah really and no it wasn’t a dickpick. In the cave we stumble upon little froggies in their eggs, and after about 1,5second H’arald Fornax manages to insult the gnomes, who suddenly transform into Slaads and state they eat wandering adventurers to feed their offspring. Oh no, surprise! In sudden pitchblack darkness we now fight these unsettling frogs and Peter Zonnestraal lights up their eggs with fire and we challenge them to stop fighting or we eat fried frogleggs for desert. This helps a lot and the gnome-frogs surrender telepathically. After some strong negotiating by the old man we get a longsword +1 and the rest of the gold. We collapse the tunnel leading to this frog-breeding-chamber and lock the hatch and get the hell out.
