Session #5 - End

We met Nesim Waladra, a young monk, and he told us about his master that disappeared after a nasty fight with raiders.

Session #6

We started tracking the cultists. We found their camp about 2 hours south of Greenest in the hills. We waited for the right time to be able to sneak up on the camp. We attacked the camp, which contained 8 kobolds and 4 cultists, but all the kobolds fled. After dealing with the remaining cultists, we knocked one unconscious to interrogate him. After some light intimidation, the cultists told us where their camp was, and that they were told to raid the city for loot, to create a hoard to honor the dragon queen. Taranthiel then flirted with him to try and get a little more info from him, which succeeded admirably (making him question his sexuality a little, I guess). He told us to be careful of the rear guard protecting the main raider camp.

We marched in the direction of the main camp, easily avoiding the rear guard. At the camp, we saw that it was pretty lightly guarded so we could easily walk in and blend in with the mercenary crowd. After walking around and getting a feel for the place for a bit, the group heard something about the cave at the end of the camp, and names like Resmir and Frulam Mondath, the latter being the officer we killed by accident while trying to capture her in Greenest. We were intercepted by an officer who sent us to work jobs in the camp. Thalindra and Zerrius were sent to the guard tower, Elyndra was sent to clean the stables and Taranthiel had to help with cooking. While working these jobs, the group was able to gather information:

• Elyndra was near the prisoners when she worked the stable, but she didn’t see Leosin Erlanthar, and she didn’t see any change to the prisoners guards.

• Thalindra gleaned information about a special half-elf prisoner Resmir might have an interest in.

• Taranthiel heard of the Nursery, the cave at the end of the camp. They are trying to hatch dragon eggs and they store the hoard there.

After getting back together, the group realized they were being followed, so they went to set up an ambush behind some tents to confront whoever was following them.

After waiting for the person following us to catch up to us in our hiding spot, the cultist who was following us confronted Elyndra on the fact that she was present at Greenest and that she was fighting against the cultists. Taranthiel reacted fast with a sleep spell to incapacitate the cultist and formulate a plan before he wakes up.

We made a plan to try to convince the cultist that we were in Greenest only as mercenaries and that since the contract was over we were now looking for our next work opportunity. The cultist wasn’t convinced by our story and started to scream as soon as we removed his gag. Thalindra tried to cut his screaming short with a quick slash of her sword, but failed to kill him. Elyndra and Zerrius helped finish him off.

Afraid to be caught, Taranthiel cast invisibility on the corpse and we dragged it a little further.

We then left the scene of the crime to blend back into the crowd. As we left the scene, a group of cultists stopped us and asked if we had heard a scream, to which we answered that we had, and that we went to investigate but didn’t find anything. The cultists seemed satisfied with the answer and let us go.

We found an empty tent for the night and rested until the next day, planning to go back to our last jobs and go from there the next day.
