• We land in the woods. We hear the howl of wolves
• We get back in and search the planet, finding a town on the night side of the planet.
• There’s a castle illuminated by a bolt of lightening. Board flat patches on the perimeter of the town allow us to land.
• “Outsides will be taken to the Sheppard, but now the swain can feed”
It tries to bite Ylosia
• We’re fighting the swain!
• We kill the swain!
○ The swain was going to cast a spell before she died.
○ They’re wearing a pendent with argot.
• We stuff the body in a barrel
• We head off to The Tavern of the Rose Barkeep: Oren
• Lamplighter (codename that Cecil has) vs Woodcarver (name we got from Ember)
• Cecil says that we’re here to see Lamplighter, we get ushered in. Barkeep locks the door, muttering a spell to lock the door (arcane lock). Two other patrons are in the bar
• Yilosia mentions the Woodcarver, the bartender casts detect thoughts and reads our minds.
• Barkeep starts telling us about the Sheppard (she)- She’s a wizard. She’s a researcher. Her servants. Her area of study is the bounds of life and death. She’s been here for hundreds of years.
○ Some say there is a whole planet of people who use their abilities to raise the dead.

• More swains come into the bar, we kill them. Take the bodies outside to burn them.
• Someone comes from the warehouses and says “Is that the fucking Partners of Revelry”

○ It’s Zamara, the bard working with Ember and Falger (Lamplighter)
• We go back to one of the warehouses close to where we parked the ship.
• We make our way to the back of the warehouse, there’s a large crate
○ She says: “The well-travelled know how slicing sorrow can be by one’s side”
○ There’s a ladder heading down into some kind of basement
○ Moat is there, other Collective alchemists, Skyfish collective Druids, Bards, about 20
○ Large project with crystals of quartz and amethyst.

• We get brought to a table, someone brings us some food

• On the table where we’re being debriefed is a wooden cylinder (2ftx2ftx2ft) with lots of threads

• The thing in the middle of the table shifts to become a representation of the Sheffa expanse, 11000 years ago. Time starts move forward, showing the start of the void song
• Not a lot changed for 1000 years. Mote speeds up the display.
• “About 4 decades ago things started getting worse” The indigo splotches look like a downpour (the void getting worse.) Really started getting worse about 10 years ago.
○ Had to form relationships with “powerful entities” that weren’t “wholly successful.”
• We ask questions
○ The devices they’re building are an attempt to control the void
○ What is the Twin’s place in all of this?
§ Isable and Enir are gifted sorcerers, Their power connected to the astrological events that happened on their birthday

§ We’ve identified a site that contains a significant site linked with the arrival of the Voidsong. “Are you familiar with the Goldenbrew Abby?” (asked to Jacques)

□ Jacques doesn’t recall the access, then possibly remembers where it’s at.
○ Shepard doesn’t have any interest in the void, per Mote
○ How did the transit society start?
§ Work began in earnest at the end of the last war. (45 years ago, ish.) (Around the same time the void events became more frequent.)

§ There are those who oppose our work for reasons we do understand, (esoteric reasons?) (They understand Kel Brightmoon, but not others).

○ I follow down Mote back into the warehouse, wait a minute at the box before opening it
○ It’s quiet, dormant, Mote, Zamara and Tulon Skyfish druid are drinking tea near the globe of Giradus KY
• Zamara is saying that we’re may be going to the witch?
• Concern about retaining us “inexperienced young contractors.” and sending us on their “most trusted lead.” (Giradus KY)
• Seeing as the Pale Citadel
• The disguised one has witch ties “Do we know her name yet?”
• They think we have Kel and Witch ties ((Zamara seems suspicious of us, Tulon is pragmatic.)
• Friends working with the witch?!
○ Crater is the test site
○ I try to get away, but end up going down outside the warehouse.
• Jacques brings me back with a healing word “Kito, you idiot.”
• Rikavon summons a ghost that casts intimidate on Mote, which works!
○ I fail an insight check and think I died and my soul left my body (insight roll: 2, insight stat: -1)
• Jacques cons Mote into thinking that the ghost possessed me. Jacques attacks the ghost, I attempt to attack the ghost and trigger a wild magic surge.
• We kill the ghost
○ If we find an ancient golem in any usable condition then we can get an extra 50GP
• Upon completion, we get an additional 50 silver pieces, 5 things of a salve that reduces force damage
○ Found a diary of Vivian Goldenbrew (Jacques doesn’t know who they are.)
○ Story has it, that someone went through the kitchen drain at the Goldenbrew Abby, which connected to a lava tube
• The Transit Society sees an “eye” in the storm where we could rest and recover
• Pascal was doing some dangerous arcane experiments in the crater, there’s a golem brought with him that was shielded against his experiments
Our mission: gain access to the drain, enter the lava tube, find the lab (using the salve), optional: find a golem.
