Born to a merchant family in far-away Evernon, Ashia is a woman that is used to getting what she wants. Due in part thanks to her birth, being a naturally beautiful person, and in part, due to her parents’ lenient nature Ashia grew up completely spoilt. However, she was not unintelligent, if anything, she is best described as insidiously conniving. Something which came to her aid when her arranged wedding was announced to the son of another merchant family.
Hearing the news, Ashia looked forward to living her life in the lap of luxury, knowing she and her future husband would inherit both mercantile empire. However, the one thing she could not account for reared its head. Her betrothed broke off the arranged marriage, stating that he loved a different woman. A woman who was soon revealed to be a mere serving girl. In a spat of rage, Ashia employed goons to murder the young woman. Unfortunately for Ashia, even after the deed was done, her goons were arrested and the truth of her involvement spread like wildfire.
Although not immediately arrested, Ashia knew it was only a matter of time. Stealing several valuable objects from her family, Ashia fled Evernon, hoping to make her way to Hadria where she could establish herself as a courtier. Along the way, she invested time and energy into learning magic, intrigued due to her almost natural inclination towards it. Thanks to this, she would become a competent wizard before arriving in Hadria. However, even this far some word about who she was had spread. Rather than attempting to start over in hadria where everyone knew her, Ashia left again for the City of Eritire where she hoped the fledgeling court life would aid her rise and be unaware of her past.
However, she would arrive in the city completely broke. Hoping to build some funds, she would take on a job with the Barabombtail Guild to retrieve an object of interest. Soon discovering it to be a Dragon Egg and fighting their way through several giant Dragonborn, Ashia would become convinced by one of her party members that the egg was extremely bad and could blossom into a disaster. Not wanting to be involved further at all, Ashia chose her reward for the completion of the job to be the funds, or at least the opportunity, to establish herself in the court life of the Esmerian Empire’s capital city, Vedria.
