The next morning, the adventurers wake up rested and ready to continue their adventure.
Wonders is woken abruptly by the sensation of something grabbing his tail; it is a small goblin boy who freezes when he is caught. There is a little girl goblin hiding in the bushes not far away - she screams when the boy freezes, and runs away. The boy runs too, even though Wonders tries to catch him.

“Wait child,” Wonders says, “I’m not mad…why were you grabbing my tail?”
“I’ve…I’m sorry, I’ve never seen a tabaxi before…your tail kept twitchin’ in your sleep.”

Wonders offers the child the opportunity to pet his tail - the child does, squeals in delight, and then runs off.

Eveneem gathers provisions while Wonders goes in search of the kids. He finds them playing under the belly of the giant tortoise. Mick watches with amusement from a distance. Mick makes off-handed comments under his breath while Wonders continues to gently charm the kids.
As Wonders goes to leave, Mick gives the kids cigarettes. The little boy eats his, and Wonders sigh and tells him not to.
Mick and Wonders chat as they leave to head back to the group. Ali scolds Mick, “You’re not allowed to be a parent.”
“This wouldn’t be the first place I was banned from breeding,” Mick sighs.

The adventurers take off, and continue on their travels. They trudge along for 3 days under the beating Jorhassian sun.
They come across a broken wood bridge across a ravine, where a river runs far below, 40 feet down and 60 feet across.
With Ali’s bow skills we get across thanks to two ropes and some good acrobatics/athletics checks. The moorbounders stay behind though, and turn around to head back to Jigow.

We hear screaming/shouts nearby, and go to figure out what’s going on.
It turns out that it is Ayo and her friends, fighting a roaring demonic creature. The creature seems impervious to poison, and it seems to have a relatively thick hide. It manages to avoid Ayo’s spear and turns around to attack Maggie, miraculously doing some serious damage.
Ali does over 50 points of damage on her turn, and Maggie hits the creature for 10 points but gets slashed in the back as she runs away.
The creature doesn’t seem able to be pushed by spells, and the two fire bolts from Xenith miss.. The “Emerald Envclave’s” Drow wizard(?) tried a spell that looked like a black holee, but it also failed.

Eveneem ran forward to battle! She tried to figure out whaat the creature was, but was unable. She cast shield of faith on Wonder to prepare for the dangers ahead.

Dermott moved to maggie to heal her. Ayo and the drow attack the creature and almost kill it. Thankfully wonder only misses 2 of his attacks and manages to finish it off.

We converse with Ayo about the Spear she carries and warn it may be cursed. She doesn’t seem terribly concerned by it, and is somewhat critical of the necklace we are carrying. This prompts a discussion of good and evil vs prime deities vs betrayer gods.

We all head off to Bazzoxan. On the walk, Wonders convinces Ali to go talk to Ayo about the spear. Ali is less than happy about it. Dermott is awesome as always, but Ali learns nothing. The party on the other hand, learns that Ali and Ayo are definitely going to fuk.

We get to the Betrayer’s Rise and gain entry to the fortress city of Bazzoxan with some clever name-drops by Wonders.

Once inside, an alarm rings out, but it wasn’t us, we swear. Turns out something bad is happening, and we see blobs of flesh and bone (cough shambling mound cough) coming out the ground and attacking the watch. We start to attack the blobs alongside the watch in hopes of helping Ayo and Maggie get to the infirmary.

We eventually kill the babbling mouths and head to the only inn in town: The

At the inn, we wash up and grab food. While eating, Wonder and Eveneem meet a tiefling researcher named Question. She really likes hearing the story of the necklace and the visions. She says that she believes the figure in the visions is a champion of the archheart. They look slightly different from when Wonders last saw them, but it seems to be the mysterious agent of the luxon who saved him from a betrayer cult’s cage.

Qustions immediately decides to research anything she can for us and sets off to her room!
