Gerudo Barrens
Tough, dangerous yet varied and giving, The Barrens are Home of Gerudo, and safe haven of lost and downrodden.
These lands are ruled by The Sultan, who governs all the lands within. Each region within Barrens has their own Baron, who answer to Sultan.
Gerudo Barrens, despite its challenges, has become sort of safe haven for the abandon and the shunned. When the great calamity struck and monsters began roam the lands, there have been appearances of previously monstrous races that have, for unknown reasons, broken away from Malice’s (and Presumably, Ganon’s) control, and regain their own sentience. Some Bokoblins also known as Koblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos have began to live their own lives and trying to co-exist with other races, while some retain their barbaric/bandit life-style due to harsh and prejudicial treatment they’ve received from Hylians and other distrustful folk.
Gerudo on the other hand and their leaders themselves are proud race of warriors and have gain some better renown from other nations prior and after to events of Calamity. Due to their own history fluctuating alliances and former lives as “thief race of Hyrule”, they’ve been the most open and understanding to these downtrodden newcomers, despite receiving criticism from other nations.
Gerudo do strongly follow certain specific rules that limit some of it’s citizen
- Gerudo must never have a male King, ever again. The Sultan may have a spouse, but they shall never have an title above the Sultan’s
- Sultan will always be a Gerudo and they have to proof their worth to their people & court.
- The society is Matriarchal. Men still have their rights and can become leaders of community but no man is allowed in Sultan’s inner circle, with highest rank outside of the circle they’re able to achieve is Counselor or Vice-Baron.
