Lanayru Archipelagos
Collection of islands with vast jungles and tropics. Home of Zora and Lizalfos
Zora have a strong sense of duty for history and order. They are known for their seafaring & skilled fishing, as well as their suprisingly highly detailed and intricate stone and metal works, seen such in their temples and tools and weapons. Strongest among them can swim against the current and even up some waterfalls. Majority of Zora’s citizen are peaceful and docile, but some of the older generation have harbored some grudges over the years, as Zora’s are blessed or burdened with both long lives and long memory spans (longest living mortals on Hyrule, average to 180-200 or rarely, up to 300 years old.)
Zora are normally found in or near large bodies of water, but very rarely stray far away from them. Majority of Zora live in the Zora’s Domain, but it is common to see Zora within coastal and bay areas of other continents as well. Zora do not solely live in fresh water, but can also thrive in salt water, tho some do better than others in both ways
Because Zora do not often travel far from sources of water and are protective of Zora’s Domain, they have had somewhat limited interaction with other races. The Zora had maintained positive relations with the Hylians since ancient times. However, in the timeline of Hyrule’s decline that bond has gradually faded. Current leader of Ocean Zora’s, Queen Rumila has declared that Zora’s domain is no longer interested in matters of Hylians or the “burly rocks” and now focused on maintaining peace within her empire and it’s surrounding lands.
Since the war, Zora’s have remained quite militarized, having 3 big legions forming their army, known as the “The Spear”, “The Anchor” and “The Armor”
Zora’s Are currently locked in a Civil war between Oceanic Zoras and River Zoras. Oceanic Zoras, being major faction in Zora’s Domain, have hold on main resources and civilization of the domain, while the more primal River Zoras are allocated to deeper parts of jungles and peninsulas.
The exact moment of the civil war’s start is unclear, but it is said that when River Zora’s became desperate, they began to attack villages near their territory, then in their hubris, started to invade into Oceanic Zora territory
