You woke in Rexxentrum and spent the morning shopping, meeting several interesting shopkeepers and securing potions and artifacts, before returning to Sandrius. However, he was called away, leaving you with his aide Jameson to teleport you. James gives you the 78k gold that was negotiated and tells you shipwright Humberd Fray is waiting for your specifications. Jameson also reiterates that Sandrius will be in limited contact from here on out. It will be Expositor Dairon who will alert him to your needs, progress, and contact him in an emergency. She will join you in Nicodranas in the next week.
Arriving in Nicodranas, you set out to meet with the shipwright, providing him your specifications on the ship that he’ll add on over the next two weeks. The final cost of the ship will total 74k of the money Sandrius provided, leaving the rest to crew the ship as needed. With that, you settle in to Nicodranas and begin to look for crew and see what other adventures might await. First, you leveraged Cassie and Della’s connections to secure lodging near Mirkwood Academy on the northwest side of the city at the Troupe’s Lounge, a quiet but sophisticated inn for visitors to the Academy. The rest of the day was spent familiarizing yourself with the city, with the party splitting.
Amira sought some privacy at the Restless Wharf, prompting suspicion from Katerina and Applethorn, who stealthily followed. They listened in as Amira spoke confidently and passionately to sailors, guiding seemingly innocuous conversations to the same place: the Hollow Corsair. The three party members learned the same thing, piecemealed from various crew members: the Hollow Corsair is establishing their reign in the Lucidian Ocean, gaining followers through compensation and force; more privateers are being conscripted or sunk as the corsair gathers a fleet; rumors swell that they plan to go to war with the Clovis Concord, forcing more collaboration between the Concord and the Iron Authority of Tal’Dorei. However, Amira eventually lost her unknown tail when she entered the Shattered Figurehead tavern, possibly going invisible for 20 minutes or so before leaving without obviously speaking with anyone.
The rest of your troupe visited the Mirkwood Campus, where Della and Cassie caught up on correspondence and the campus gossip, while Scrum visited the library for information on Melora. Campus gossip reveals that Benedict has been fired and Professor Enterid has been promoted to head of Evocation. It seems that Enterid is trying to have Benedict investigated for inciting rebellion against the empire. In other news, the students are frenzied because arcanist Aloysia Telfan, from Marquet is coming to speak, expounding on her studies of a new magic stone she’s found, in 10 days.
Checking their mail, Della finds a letter from home, with a note from her mother wishing her well, saying she misses her, with a final note that the Rift outside Calaloch is flaring, which could lead to issues. She ends positively and hopes to see Della soon.
Cassie finds the standard letter from home as well as a monthly allowance of gold wishing her well and updating her on her fathers career. Stone’s family has written and asked about how he is and how his journey is going, they’re taking care of him, whenever he comes home. Another letter arrived, addressed to Stone and posted from Port Dimali on Thunsheer XX . Cassie put the letter away, waiting until Stone was driving to read it.
