Gosterwick Gazette #27: 21 Eleint 2993
- Publication: 21 Eleint 2993
The Feast of Mabon has come and gone and we now slide toward the growing cold. No word was obtained by the Gosterwick Gazette as to the location and liberation of the children who were absconded from the Little Acorns Orphanage. One must assume that the nascent heroes of the Reconstituted 3rd Cohort, an adventuring party growing in fame in the north of Burdock’s Valley, was unable to succeed in staving off the hand of sacrifice. We will likely know for sure by the next installment.
One thing that happens frequently in Gosterwick is change. We reported a few tendays ago that a new inn, dungeon themed, was being built and now we have word of one other new construction and a new business sure to make the orphans at Little Acorns Orphanage smile.
First, there is a building being constructed adjacent to the cemetery. Religious in nature if the design tells anything but the only other thing that this Gazette was able to glean is that the site will be the location of the Pluretine Church, a name not heard of in these parts before. The word church used is already causing a stir up on the Hill of the Gods as it is usually reserved for those faiths that believe in only one deity’s existence. Nothing is not yet known as to the tenets of this religion, but the building seems to be being built quickly and at night and will likely be complete in a few tendays.
The other new business in town is Gosterwick’s only toy store, called The Dolls Eyes, set to open on Harvestide, the harvest holiday between The Fading and Marpenoth, just a tenday away!
Disturbing news out of Narselion has reached the outpost of the empire. Last month a few people reported contact with diseased animals and some contracted a disease that is now known as the Weeping Pox. Not much is known about this blight but it seems to have grown into a full blown epidemic although our information is two weeks behind as Narsileon is a fourteen day journey from Gosterwick. Luckily, Narsileon is far from Burdock’s Valley.
News from the Residence this week: it seems that Lord Burdock himself was invited to the new fete to take place up on the hill on the last day of Marpenoth. This will mark the first time in many years that Iskander Basileon has made the trip from the south of the Burdock’s Valley to Gosterwick and will likely make this new, hopefully recurring day of celebration memorable.
We need not remind our reading public about the last time his lordship deigned to travel to this part of the valley. The Thorcin Recovery League may try again to capture or harm Lord Burdock.
