This month’s Festival of Ellion, on the 15th of Highsun, is the shortest of the year after midsummer at the end of Flamerule/beginning of Eleasis! Eusebia Phokas, the Thesmothete of Gosterwick has told the Gazette the government is aware that with the shortened festival that the citizens living in Under Keep will be protected from overly enthusiastic participants by increased patrols of the town watch. As always, games of chance involving athletic events and gambling will be on offer, the former in Keep Row Plaza and the latter being hosted this month at Poor Larry’s. Music and plays this month will be performed by the traveling minstrel troupe “The College of Requiems”. Be careful and have fun!

Gosterwick is known for its proximity to the Halls of Arden Vul, and it attracts many types, but not all bad as this tenday’s news shows. The adventuring party Hama & Company have proven their exploits above and beneath the plateau by starting a soup kitchen for the less fortunate. Souper Spoonfuls will open this month in Under Keep and Lady Alexia Basileon has seen fit to bestow on Hama Reeveson the title of Warden of Vetucaster. The popular Warden program grants the rights of citizenship and the opportunity to buy land within the town at a 50% discount, among other things, in exchange for valuable contributions to the town of Gosterwick. Says Reeveson, “I hope to use wealth and knowledge found in Arden Vul for the betterment of Thorcin communities.”

On a sadder note, sources tell the Gazette that over the past few tendays, several children have gone missing from the Little Acorns Orphanage. The orphanage’s headmaster, Garrin Ashcopse says that there is nothing to worry about, stating, “Look, these children are mostly leavings of adventurers that have a whelp, survive the Halls for a time, and then one day are never seen again. It should be of no surprise that these children inherit some of their sire’s or dam’s wandering spirit.” Some of the children, the Gazette has learned, however, are like little Willim, not a confident, wandering type. He was last seen following a ball into an alley way across from Little Acorns on the 8th of Highsun. Any information should be shared with City Watch Commander Aethelflad Swales.
