The Flour Shoppe
Bakery
The settlement’s center is filled with smell of fresh baked bread and warm pastries thanks to the Flour Shoppe. A wood and plaster building of German inspiration, the bakery’s chimney puffs with smoke and scents from the earliest hours of the morning. Inside, a large case shows the wares of the day, from doughnuts (a Nicodranas creation) and danish to full loaves of bread glistening with their freshly buttered tops. The gnome family that runs the shoppe can be seen moving through the back rooms, working the ovens and needing dough, with aggrevated and excited shouts echoing out every time the door opens, like they’re filming a reality TV show back there. Working the counter is the eldest (and calmest) daughter, Marabelle, who offers free samples to children and cute customers, and can be seen delivering loaves to weary travelers on the outskirts of the settlement every evening.
