Session 14
Upon meeting together, the group headed to The Golden Griffins to discuss with Svetlana Trigg what transpired in both Kythyss and Horsa. Upon arrival, the group met and disclosed the information with the Guild Leader, who wrote down the events and congratulated them on their achievement. Svetlana then asked if the group would like to become a part of the guild officially, or off the records. She stated the pros and cons of both arrangements, and also mentioned that which ever way they chose, she would like to address them with a group name. She said they could come up with one later but urged them to agree on one for their return.
From here, she asked the group to deliver a package to Caer Corwell to a man named Sterly Trigg (the group later discovered him to be her father). The group agreed on this small request, and she mentioned they could either travel by sea and take a few weeks, or to use the guilds teleportation device to travel back and forth. The group decided to use the device to arrive at Care Corwell, but they would travel back on their own for the return trip.
Before the group were allowed to leave however, Svetlana asked the party to leave the room so she could talk wo Sckips alone. The group waited outside, while Sveltana informed Sckips that, although the bounty was old, there was still one out there. She assumed it was created by Sckips’ biological parents and that it was indeed possible people were still looking for her and Us. She urged Sckips to be careful moving forward and, after some thought, decided it was best to temporarily leave the party in search of her parents to end the bounty and to possibly build a connection between her families business and wealth, and Us’ business. She told the party and, after a small yet touching farewell, Sckips departed northwards to her old family’s land near Gnarhelm.
Upon returning to Svetlana, she showed the rest of the party a small room attached to her office where a teleportation circle rested. She allowed them to go through and quickly found themselves in a similar room but instead of seeing Svetlana near the entrance, saw a young averagely-built male orc waiting for them. He addressed them and, although respectful, appeared disinterested in the group and let them on their way. They came and saw the large city and noticed the spectacular sights it beheld; numerous airships in the sky, a fait orange dome around the city protecting it with visible orange magic circles and runes upon it, spires and archways and farmland past the walls, and a large drop between to sections of the city where a chasm stood, heading into the depths of the chasm, possibly for mining and the gathering of minerals and ores. It truly was a sight to behold. As the group began to leave, Tayln felt a chill down his spine and thought he saw something in the corner of his eye. When he turned to see what was there, nothing revealed itself. He began to feel uneasy, which never seemed to truly leave him for the rest of the day.
The group managed to find their way to The Whismic Wonder where Stirly resided, met him in his shop, and spoke a little about the gift and what was in the store. As the group spoke, an individual wearing mostly black armour, female, white mid length hair and ice blue eyes walked in, and walked over to Stirly. He excused himself from the party to talk with her and, upon overhearing the conversation, discovered the woman’s name to be Trisys and not only was she a regular at the shop, but was also a well versed warrior when it came to fighting Fey, creatures that have for the most part taken over the northern half of Gwynneth. Sterly mentioned the group to be part of the Golden Griffins and suggested that Trisys work with them for a recent mission. She was hesitant but swallowed her pride and asked the group to help. Some discussions were had and insults thrown at each other but it was agreed that they would help her even if it was just to prove a point. And so the party agreed to the quest “Meet with Trisys in the morning to discuss potentially aiding her“ and she took her leave. The party the decided to stay at Stirly’s home attached to the shop and spent the afternoon/evening talking and tinkering with their own items.
Late that night, a strange dream came over Tayln. In his sleep, a vision. He was in a strange land, where trees grew strangely with strange lights and creatures. The sun shone, only to disappear to show a singular moon, with a broken one beside it. With this nighttime scenery came a darker, more twisted landscape. And as the wind began to blow, he was thrust into a strange looking building, covered in thorns and weeds, the structure itself dark and ominous. Tayln’s vision was then suddenly in a dark room, with a small pedestal filled with black water on the centre of a dark room. Black cobblestone with water dripping in the distance. As Tayln stood, dark hooded figures came and went, silently, almost ghostlike. And although there was no visible source of sound, Tayln knew the soft motherly voice that spoke to him came from the black water in this pedestal;
“My child. You have returned. Come to me. Now!“
The last word however, unlike the rest, had changed from almost soothing and inviting, to now demanding and aggressive. Tayln was suddenly ripped from the dream and awoke in a cold sweat. His companions appeared to still be resting and as he gazed over them, he saw once again that strange thing in the corner of his eye. As he turned to look at it, it didn’t disappear. He saw a shadow, darker than the others. A silhouette of a humanoid with a flowing dress, hair in the wind, standing there. And almost as if the shadows could get any darker, the outline of two horizontal eyes appeared, then a smile, stretching ear to ear, slowly. In a blink of an instant however, it disappeared from view, and the cold sweat Tayln was in seemed to get a little warmer as this presence disappeared. After once more looking at his companions, he got up and began to walk the city streets for the remainder of the night, stopping at one point to sit and ponder the dream and what it could mean. As the sun began to rise, Tayln headed back to the shop only to find Sterly making his morning meal with a dark brew he called Coffee. He offered some to Tayln who declined and went back to the room to begin looking over his blueprints and continued to write down ideas for his armour and other upgrades to it. As the rest of the party awoke, they slowly one by one left the room and joined Sterly in the kitchen, preparing for the following morning to meet with Trisys.
