After pulling over and preparing for the riders to come into range, only 30ish seconds past before they got close enough for the party to act. Us managed to stop the enemies in their tracks with Web, plus Grease, and thanks to Tayln’s Faerie Fire spell, this allowed Sckips and Hamwise to throw attacks with precision and deal some damage with bolts and fire. The enemies clearly underestimated the party and were very quickly taken down with very minimal damage on the parties side.
After the battle ended, they looked into the corpses and found some gold, and Hamwise also noticed a small note on one of them reading:

“They are heading down south in a cart. You know what to do with them.”

In addition to that, he found a small mark burned into the skin of all of these dead riders, all in different places - their wrist, their arm, the outside of their thigh, and other places. It took the shape of a multi-pointed arrow in the centre with almost two arachnid legs angled towards the arrow. It also could be a black trident with several spikes and edges, or maybe an inverted spiked helm, with sharp edges and flames represented on the outside. It could be a number of things, and although Us identified it as being something more than just a small cult, it still disturbed the party slightly, raising questions of what the mark is, who these people are, and who they may have ticked off back in Caer Callidyrr.

With this interesting development behind them for now, the party continued on to a small village named Horsa, the last village within the Dernall Forest - the main forest in the middle of Alaron. Upon passing through, the group entered the local magic shop, which appeared to be a culmination of all things magical; scrolls, potions, ingredients, weapons and armours, wands, and more. The dragonborn running the shop spoke to Us who wanted to trade a Wand of Magic Detection he found on the riders earlier for something else. The dragonborn offered a Wand of Magic Missile, but also offered an Immovable Rod if he would get rid of a pest problem himself and a few others have been having. Us politely declined and said they would return later if they had the time. The dragonborn then looked to Sckips, noticing the blood she had on her body after carving up some of the other riders, and he politely mentioned that she should clean herself sooner rather than later. This dragonborn also spoke with Hamwise who was after a shield, noticing two he wanted. The dragonborn mentioned that he could lower the price of one of the shields, the Sentinel Shield, or give him a Shield +1 for free if he removed the pest problem instead. Hamwise similarly said they could do it on their way back instead, which the dragonborn accepted.
From here, the group continued on their way down south, coming to an opening in the forest, now seeing hills and the open plains of Southern Alaron. From here, the journey should only take another two days to reach Kythyss if all goes well…
